I obviously have a lot to learn and I look forward to that - just as I declared I considered this jacket hopeless, it received very warm feedback.

Amongst other comments, Aida suggested something great - to use it as topper when wearing skinnies and boots, and since I had the right ingredients I thought I'd give it a go. This IS why comments matter so much - they inspire and help us move forward and think outside the box.

It was a lot of fun putting the outfit together! I basically piled the pieces that were IN (jacket, skinnies and boots), then the rest just folowed: the scarf, which has both colors of the jacket and the boots in it, yet dominant color on it is something of dark purplish/amaranth, which then made the turtleneck in that color an obvious choice.

What do you think?

I felt great. And best of all, I actually wore the skinnies when neither top nor jacket were long enough to cover the obvious giveaway I am a pretty pear. Did I care? Not at all. I've been giving my hips some more thought since Angie's blog post about appreciating the pear silhouette and seems like the message had actually sunk. It's not about minimizing the hips (or anything else), I didn't give mine a single thought today - it was about throwing on whatever I wanted and what made me smile and that was enough.
