IMO there's pastels that work with black and pastels that don't. i think of this pink as a strong pink (i'm sure there is some "real" term for it that i don't know), but this pink works. and that you have paired this with a great graphic tee with lots of white space.
I really like your rendition of pastels with black (and white), I think the white makes it work better for my eye since I'm not usually a fan of pastels. Of course this coat is more saturated and a lovely shade. You look great!
Phone upside down that is, I doubt this works with an actual camera lol
Something to do with where the lens is positioned in relation to the rest of the phone, the angle you hold it at, how difficult it is to take a phone pic in the first place lol... it just works for me. May not work for you!
