Another set of outfits from this week.

Somebody remarked that I look like Wilma Flintstone.

2) 06/11
This is my attempt at leggings. I didn't know if this look would work for me so instead of buying new tunics/tops, I just tried a dress that I already have at home. What do you think? I have to say, I felt super comfy and contemporary in this outfit. I would like to keep experimenting with this look even if this particular outfit didn't work.

Can you guess the theme of the week? As you can see, the weather got progressively worse over the course of the week. We had a rainstorm on Wednesday (I didn't leave the house) and again last night!

yup, the theme is red and black! not that I started with a theme in mind, but that's how outfits turned out this week.

Bella, I love the first outfit! I like the second outfit with the denim jacket, but it's probably personal preference as I'm not wild about the print on the dress. Also, what does it look like if you try the leggings a little higher on your calf? You rocked your black and red looks this week. Thanks for sharing and hope your weather improves!

Love the jean jacket look, since for me the jacket tames the print a bit without making it at all dull. Very nice!

You can absolutely rock the leggings look, Bella. How about removing the belt? I'm hardly an expert at this, it's just my gut feeling. Could be totally wrong, of course.

I also like how you put your hair up in the first pic. Very sassy and playful.

You look terrific in red and black.

Great week, as usual! I love everything, but especially the first outfit, maybe because it is a little different Or maybe it's your hair, it looks very pretty this way.

I am still working on the leggings look myself, but I second Lena's suggestion to try it without the belt. I think it works very well with this dress!

Love every one of these outfits, would wear each of them in a heart beat! You rock rock the leggings look. Try scrunching them up a little higher, too. You have nice calves and can definitely wear this length, but it might also be nice if they ended at the point where the calve starts curving.

I loved every outfit and thank you for sharing. You are inspiring me to wear my leggings out in public...maybe for a bookclub breakfast meeting tomorrow.
I also am studying how you wear those V-neck sweaters so effortlessly. I especially liked what you did with sleeve lengths in that outfit. You look fab in red and black!

I am glad to hear that the second outfit worked and with a little tweaking here and there it is a keeper.

I realize now that I can pull the leggings even higher. I thought I did better than last time (when you all told me that I should wear them higher), but I guess there is still room for improvement!:)

Thanks for the suggestion to try the dress without the belt. Unfortunately the dress has large belt loops, which would look utterly hideous without a wide belt going through them. (And I don't want to cut them because I like wearing the dress as a dress with the belt)) Also, I am taking advantage of the jersey fabric and scrunching the dress a bit under the belt to keep the length above my knees.

Actually, I love the print on this dress. I purchased it in a little shop on vacation a couple of years ago. Somehow because of the jersey fabric and the cowl neckline, I perceive it as more of a party dress than a day dress. So I haven't really worn it more than a couple of times. I am really glad I can put it into regular rotation with the addition of leggings and a jean jacket.

Joy - I am glad I convinced you! I would love to see your outfit if you care to post a picture.
As for the v-neck sweater, perhaps it depends on the shape of the V? This is a pretty rounded, large V that leaves enough room for showing the shirt and the shoulder line.

1. Love the romantic ruffle around your neck, but what stands out for me in this outfit is the the low-slung placement of the belt elongates your torso in a very sexy way. You just look like you go on for miles!

2. TOTALLY love the dress -- the pattern and cut is killer -- and the leggings definitely looks contemporary and appropriate. Also, your hair loose and voluminous is perfect for the look. Great with or without the jacket, imo.

3. I love this thin-belted, perfectly accessorized, polished and bright look you do so well. It is your signature style, and you always look so good in it!

Kristen - that's my summer hair. You will laugh at me when I say this but my hair is very docile!:) I can style it any way I want and in the summer I usually let it air dry for about 10-15 minutes and then blow dry with a hair diffuser:

Voila, I have instant curly hair. It works even better if I can put it in a bun before going to bed at night. I wake up to voluminous curly hair:)

bella, i love your wilma necklace! i love that you're getting so much use of it!

i love the dress with the belt! i noticed some suggested wearing it w/o the belt, and you mentioned that you couldn't b/c the belt loops would look funny. obviously you know best, but do you need the belt loops to keep the belt up? perhaps try wearing the belt over the loops for a day and see how it goes. then perhaps you could cut them off and give your dress more versatility?
