Opinions on two tunics please

I found some cute leggings in the INC dept of Macys -- they are dark blue, with an almost denim-like look, with ruching at the bottom. But, are either of these tunics any good? I am thinking they both might be a "no." The first is from INC., the second from Max Studio. Thanks for your opinion!

With all due respect, are you crazy Laura? I am in LOVE with that first tunic! It looks fabulous on you! I totally want to copy it but I know it's probably out of my price range.

The second one is the one Inge posted right? I actually like it but maybe not with leggings, or white leggings. No one here has tried white leggings (I have some but I really want a black tunic or dress to wear them with...I think it'd look sharp). Did you try it over skinnies?

Wow, that first tunic looks amazing on you! You have such skinny thighs, you can totally get away with wearing a shorter tunic with leggings (which are totally cute btw). I love how you have paired it with the yellow shoes too! I am not so sure about the second tunic - it just seems a little shapeless and and at least at this angle makes you look wider than you really are.

My concern was that the first one was too short. I am glad to hear so far that it seems better than I thought!

The second one feels good on, but the color doesn't do much for me, and the shape might not do anything for me at all. I was thinking about putting a white button-down under it. Maya's idea about white leggings is good too.

I do think the first one is too short to wear with leggings. It's adorable and looks great on you, but I'd save it to wear with clams.

I also think the first one is too short for leggings. I like the second one, and I like the layering idea. Is it black or grey? I looks lighter than leggings on my screen.

I love the first tunic. It shows off your amazing figure, looks fun and flirty, and screams summer. I agree with others about it being too short for leggings.

This is a bit off topic and I should probably post by itself, but your picture raises some questions for me. I have some skinny jeans that are jeans but fit tight almost like leggings. In your picture, your leggings look a lot my jeans just shorter. So now I wonder where to classify my jeans - jeans or leggings. ???

Ok sorry about meandering. Onto the second tunic. I'm not as keen on it. After looking at shapely you in picture one, it just looks like a sack. The fact that it's black isn't helping it's case.

Those are the leggings that I want to get and was talking about in another thread! I am ALL OVER them. They shall also be in my closet next week. Very fab. We are going to be samies, Laura - again!

LOVE the second tunic. KILLER. Wooohoo! No waistline for a change. A welcome change in my book. Embrace the voluminous look.

LOVE the first tunic too, but with clams or skinnies. I *do* feel it’s too short for leggings.

That first tunic is AMAZING!! Keep it keep it! And I love the length; I think the second one is too long, personally. And not nearly as smile-making as the first. I love the yellow shoes!

You guys are making this difficult! I am leaning toward returning the first top, as I already have enough tops to wear with clams (this was a mission to find tunics/dresses for leggings), but everyone is being so complimentary about it

It's a charcoal grey -- I love how they style it with a turtleneck for fall. My eye is still adjusting to the look, but I am going to trust Angie and keep it!

Thank you for trusting me, Laura. If you feel you have enough tops for clams, return the first top – but hold onto to the second one! It’s part of YOUR style evolution. (Could look fab with a cropped millitary jacket and chestnut boots for Autumn.... always thinking ahead......)

Oh yes, those chestnut boots make everything work! Cropped military jacket -- that could be something to watch for at our Chicago NAS convention. I have a very small list of three items so I hope I can find something.

And I did have to chuckle about the fact that Angie & I are twins (again). Just like the day we first met. My calves are skinny so I am always trying to make them look bigger and when I saw the ruching on those leggings I was all over them!

Oh I didn't realize the first tunic was with leggings. They just looked like clams to me. Yes, it does seem too short for leggings, BUT it still looks great and will be fab over clams or skinnies. I hope you'll keep it!

I have my eye on some ruched leggings from Macys too! Are they Kensie?

Maya, these are INC and of course were well hidden behind a bunch of tops in the INC department.

I have no idea what Macy's is thinking most of the time!

The first top is probably not quite a tunic. Without the elastic, it would be long enough to qualify, but that elastic feature brings the length up several inches.

Kristen & I are headed to the NAS pre-sale tomorrow night, so what we find there will determine the fate of that top for me -- probably I should focus on fall, you know?

That rushing detail is SWEET, Laura, and I adore the fabric. I have my eye on the pair at INC. I hope they still have my size. In Seattle, people are wearing leggings left right and centre and I’m much relieved. It’s a huge step up from bad leg shortening capris and an ugly t-shirt. Stock is selling out everywhere and they are PERFECT for Autumn too. No wonder!
