Hello lovely ladies, I hope everyone's well. I've been lurking a bit, but irregularly and hope to catch up in the next few days

I've been away visiting my dad for the last couple of weeks and while at my childhood home I've been browsing through our old photo albums (inspired by Vix's recent thread from Vancouver, I was eager to find some of the photos taken at the same locations as hers).

I came across this photo taken, at a different place altogether though ;-), in 1991 and while I always loved it, this time I've discovered a whole new dimension to it because I looked at it with different eyes, my YLFed eyes, and spotted - the pairing of navy and black!

The person is dressed in the navy suit with and black button down shirt. The psychedelic pattern on the tie is in red, black and white. The socks are red, as is the flower and the outfit is completed with black patent shoes.

The whole look has been rounded by the three days' "growth" of beard and dark sunglasses. Salvatore used to carry a small comb in the outer pocket of his jacket, regularly stopping by any reflecting surface to make sure the shiny dark hair stays in perfectly tidy pony-tail. "He" was cool as cucumber and thrilled that nobody could really tell who the person actually was - at least not for good part of the evening when the photo was taken.

It took me good 3 months to prepare the whole Salvatore character, the costume, the moves, strong Italian accent. I wore this on the eve of my prom, on the separate event when my classmates organized the costume party. It was more fun and more "me" than the prom itself and to this day it remains one of the most fun things I have ever done.

There's a lot of personal history attached to this photo, but this is its first public showing
