Ola - outfit options

First of all, let me apologize in advance for the picture overload. I went a little overboard because we're going to an event tonight and of course, I've got nothing to wear! I'm working from home today but I ran out of time to go shopping so I thought I'd rummage through my closet and see if I can make do.

I tend to go pretty conservative (read: boring) with my colour choices so I attempted to just put things together and see how they look. I recently got the purple and yellow tops (finally found ones that are longer at H&M) and they're colours I'd not normally wear. After looking at the photos I feel like I need a green top and another cardi/cover up piece (ahh, colour choice dilemma!).

I'd love your opinions on what looks good, what doesn't and what I can change/add to make it better. Thanks! :)

Do you mind saying what kind of event you'll be attending? Your outfits ranged from smart casual to a bit dressier, and the type of event (as well as the venue) will influence your choice.

As hot as the weather has been here, black seems a little heavy, but I know you're farther north (Toronto?), and the weather may be cooler where you are. My favorite combo was the aqua, yellow, and white floral skirt with the yellow top and white cardi. It looks very summery, and the skirt is a great length for you.

Hi Ola, cute outfits, sorry if I'm responding a bit too late for your event. My favorites are #4, 7, 11 and 13. Very nice!

I think that the red skirt in outfit #13 is probably too long, it could benefit from a bit of hemming. And I am not a big fan of the floral skirt from outfits 8 and 12.

Love both purple and yellow new tops and your cream flats!

Legs! That's what I see! Thanks for the pics Ola - what did you end up wearing? Your outfits are adorable. Where did you go?

I'm probably too late, but I loved nearly all of them. I think the only one I wasn't as thrilled with was the white blouse - it just needed a belt or something to define your waist.

If you were going out on the town tonight, I think I would've voted for the last one - it seemed the most dressy because of the velvety fabric. But I loved all the rest too, the color combos were great and the purple and yellow is fab!!! The white cardi is adorable - what brand??

P.s. I adore your hips. I wish I had curvy hips like yours!!!

Hi Ola, don't sell yourself short, this is good stuff. My favorite bottoms are the walk shorts. You have great legs, so show them off!
I'm with Tanya on the red skirt. I dig the color/fabric, but it's too long.
Jeans look good on you too. But again, I'd go for the cropped ones, assuming it's not too fancy of an occasion. Get more of those walk shorts!

Aww, thank you for the sweet comments! I know I posted too late to get input for the event, but I figured it would still be helpful. We went to a concert, kind of a geeky one - Star Trek: The Music. :D It was done by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra so I thought it would be dressy though - in reality folks wore everything from jeans and t-shirts to more dressy outfits that you'd expect at a Symphony concert. I decided to go with the blue/green skirt with the yellow top and white cardi.

Becky, it's been around 20-25 C here recently, so warm but not too hot. According to Google that translates to 68-77 F. It gets chilly in the evening usually though.

Tanya I agree on the red skirt. I almost didn't post it but thought, why not - thank you for the feedback. About the dark blue flower skirt, is it the colour, shape, or length that you don't think works? The flats are a YLF inspired purchase - I would have never gotten white/cream shoes before!

Shiny, the cardi is from a store called Mexx. I'm not sure if they're in the US, based on their labels they seem to be based in Europe.

Antje, thanks for the compliment! I'm hoping to find a nice pair of clamdiggers to add to my collection too, with the summer weather and all.

I hope you had fun, Ola.

I meant to say that it looked as though you were getting loads of use out of those white shoes. I love them! they MADE your outfits. A nice clean statement. Perfect. I agree with Tanya that the red skirt could be shortened, but I have to say that if anyone can pull off that skirt length it’s 6ft you! ALL your outfits are fab. You have got it down. Well done Ola!

My favourites are the citron and khaki combo with the white shoes, and the clamdiggers with the purple top and heels. SOOOOO great.

Thanks for posting so many pictures. It takes time and effort to do all of that dressing and photographing and posting.
You did a beautiful job of mixing it up and making many outfits with your pieces. Good job, and inspirational to me.
You wear clothing well and I thought you looked great in everything. My only comment is that you have such pretty legs, it is a shame to cover them up with a long skirt. However in the winter or for certain occasions it is fun to wear longer skirts and you can certainly wear them well with your great figure.

Thanks Angie. I used to think white shoes didn't go with anything. Now because of YLF I see that they go with almost everything! They are still at the "breaking in" stage but I think we'll have that worked out soon.

San, I'm trying to buy versatile pieces that look good so that I can maximize the use I get out of them. As an indecisive person by nature, there's nothing worse for me than standing in front of a bursting closet and trying to figure out what to wear. ;) Thank you for the compliments!
