October Jewelry challenge results

I must say, I didn't wear every piece. I certainly could have just strung a necklace on lounging about the house, but that wasn't the intention behind the challenge. As far as I can recollect, every piece made it out of the house, even just to see a neighbor while doing laundry (today) or running errands.
The only outfit I did not capture was at the zoo on Monday because my BF drained the battery taking so many animal pics I was wearing my wine cord skinnies, knock off Equipment shirt from Costco (thank you Una!) and zipper ballet flats with the wine grapevines sterling earrings.

I know nothing is earth shattering here, but it was a good challenge and again helped me see what I really wear as opposed to what I think I wear

Pic 1 is the jewelry on. Pic 2 is the outfits. Pics 3 - 6 are the whole lot laid out. Pics 7 & 8 are the two necklaces I did not get to.

Caro, to be fair, it was only what I brought to FL. I left 2/3 to 3/4 of it back home. But I can tell you I feel pretty covered in that department these days!

Hi, Mo; I admit I'm a bit dense. Are your challenges to see what you really wear and to challenge yourself to wear them in new combos? Or are they to see what you should purge? Or???

I have close to 50 scarves but regularly wear only a dozen or two; maybe I should purge some. Earrings reflect the same numbers. Hmmmm.

Donna, they are kind of two-fold for me. First, I am trying to wear everything, but secondly, by seeing what gets left until last, or that I really have to work at finding a way to wear it, makes me aware that it's not a big hit in my wardrobe. Therefore I don't need any more of ____ that I found a pain to work into my challenge.
I don't know if it's just me, but in my head I wear a lot of a, b, or c and keep buying it, but in reality, I don't. This makes me face reality a bit. And I also need something to do to keep from shopping until I move back home lol!
I did purge both a pair of shoes from the first challenge and a pendant from the second one.

Good for you for taking on a challenge like this. I'm a streaky accessories person - if my gold earrings are on the bedside table then that's what I wear, day after day. I have others tucked away, but can't be bothered fishing them out. I will take the time to change out my handbag though, so clearly that's more important. But you've inspired me to get out all my earrings tonight (all 4 pairs!) and start playing.

I think you followed suit quite well. I do love the full pictorials on #1 and #2. I am trying to get to taking a picture everyday but I am nowhere near accomplishing it. Are you planning to retire the two unworn items or it was just luck of the draw they did not get worn?

I'm so impressed at how good you are at doing challenges! You look stylish and comfortable in all of your combinations. I don't know if I would have thought of trying it with jewelry! It makes me tired to think about it...

What a great challenge! I recently purged a LOT of jewellery. I am a bit of a magpie - I accumulate shiny things but I was becoming totally overwhelmed. I've slimmed it down to a small pile of stuff I regularly wear. Well done on wearing all that stuff - makes me want to do the same.

What a beautiful collection! I'm also guilty of having a large collection and only ever wearing a few pieces xD how do you store them all? (if you don't me asking).

Zap, I did purge a pendant but did not purge the unworn necklaces. I just didn't have the occasion to dress up to wear them right now.
Tara, good to see you again - it has been a while!
LauraB - I am living in temporary rental unit right now that's barely furnished. I was hanging it all on a wire hanger - yikes. Found a felt covered swirly thing to use in it's place. But back home is my wooden hanger I love.

i don't think exercises need to have earthshattering results to be effective. just getting a handle on what not to buy in the future because you don't use what you have now is a valuable lesson (in many ways!)

I mostly wear earrings, and pendants when wearing turtle necks. Even my watch bothers me so there's no point in wearing bracelets and rings. I'm actually not very sure of what I'm going to do about that when I eventually get engaged/married lol

Chiming back in here. I agree with bj1111. The work you are doing is the hard but most useful part. It will be really interesting to see how this all plays out when you start shopping again.

I enjoyed this challenge Mo! I'm with you on thinking that I wear x/y/z things "all the time" when in reality I do not; these types of experiments are probably the best way to assess what's _really_ getting reached for each day! Did you find that you wanted to wear some of the pieces more than others, even after you'd already worn them for the challenge? The two that didn't get worn look far dressier than the others, probably had a hand in them not getting worn.

As an aside, you have an especially covetable cuff/watch collection. I don't even wear bracelets much and I want everything in photo #6
