New Angie inspired booties

Hot off the presses, when I opened yesterday's post I had to throw on my new booties - I knew they were inspired by Angie's white booties and I was so excited that she was wearing hers. Thrown on with what I was wearing. And while I am at it, what do you think of this older DKNY linen blend coat (recently thrifted and not yet dealt with)? Small investment in it in every sense so feel free! (But the shoes are staying.)

The coat was what first caught my eye! It's perfect for you. The boots too.. But the coat!

I love the boots.
The coat leaves me hugely conflicted. I like it on you. But it is so 90's. It's very emblematic of the 90's DKNY. I was in college back then and thought when i got a real job I'd wear DKNY. But I digress.

Wonderful booties and love the colors of your tee and cardi, they go so well with your complexion and hair. And, you look like you're having fun. I'll leave the coat to more expert eyes.

What gorgeous booties! And they'll do so nicely in your wardrobe.

As for the coat, well, I'm afraid I'm one of those who only likes linen in summer vacation clothing, but I do like the movement of the coat. I'd suggest both shortening and tapering the sleeves.

I like the style of the coat, but it overall looks too big on you. I think the color goes great with your hair.

I would be attracted to this coat too, but might not end up wearing.
Then there is the question about whether to alter or not.
Would the sleeves cuff nicely whilst you decide to keep or not?

I like the booties with the romantic top! Only one less roll? Jeans a little longer? What do you think? Like the coat too but I think it may need more delicate footwear or a skinny jean or skirt or dress.

i also love the coat, but i can see anna's point, it does speak to a specific time, so you will need to be careful with how you style it.

Denise, agree with you completely. I rolled up the jeans just to show off the booties - I wouldn't normally roll them that much. I was actually wearing grey booties that day, but was inspired by seeing Angie's white booties to show these off.

Deborah, you are so sweet! I am letting the front of my hair grow out for a bit and it is always wonderful to get a hair boost when I am feeling neither here nor there.

Shevia, do you mind sharing what kind of booties they are? I'm on the lookout for white ones, and so I'm bothering everyone who posts ones I like
I think these are my fav yet.

I personally love the coat on you. To me it says "not everyone could get away with this, but I can, cuz I have style!"

I really like the idea of a linen coat. It sounds like this one was cheap enough that it might be worth keeping around for fun even if you don't wear it much. But then again, that might not be great advice coming from someone whose closet is stuffed with things that seemed fun at the time, but that rarely get worn.

Wow , I love both the coat and the booties! The booties are just great 'nuff said. The coat is older, but seems to me to be retro, not dated. Love the movement in the last pic! Keep!

I LURVE the coat. But. I'd get it tailored - taken in a bit, and possibly shortened. I think if it fit you a bit more precisely it'd be a real show stopper.

Wow. I love #1 so much, Shevia. Killer. You not only bat for Team White Booties, but for Team Pink too. These items are so pretty on you. And of course, the boots are deliciously graphic - the black socks bookending your hair. I love that you have a pretty edge to your thrown together RATE style. It's unique.

And the long linen coat is a fab nod to the '90s. It's going to be brilliant after alterations.

Thank you! The coat was truly a pick up for play thrift find, but I am certainly giving it new respect after your comments.

Ok, I am sorry I didn't give outfit details and the reason usually is the details are so very annoying to anyone interested in the items. Specifically the booties are by a small, local brand. I had seen a picture of these very booties in a magazine at the dentist's and taken an iphone picture, which I promptly forgot about until I downloaded the pictures a couple of months later, looked up the store and drove down to find she had one pair left size 37.

Pink cardigan sweater and bf jeans both thrifted, as well as the coat. When I say thrifted I mean I paid a little less than $3 for each, which is why I can afford to play. Pink t-shirt H&M.

Angie, when you come to steal my shoes, I will give you the box and have DH cook you a lovely dinner.

Nancy after that comment you must come to dinner also! Yes, I have stopped coloring my hair and at this point what you see is what I got.
