The rest of my BR order arrived today and I need your help.
I have already posted the navy straight leg trousers (pic. 1-3) which are in size 14. Today size 12 arrived but in trouser cut (pic. 4-6) and a navy blazer (pic 7-9)
Size 14 is big but not too overly so. Size 12 technically fits but it is a snugger fit. I took pictures outside in hope that it will be easier to see the fit.
Question 1: what is your preference? Don't mind the length, there is some hem to let down.

Question 2: what do you think on the blazer? Too short? Should I keep looking?

Sorry, the post it pretty short (but hopefully 9 pictures speak loudly enough), have to run but wanted to get you going!

Sveta- I think navy is a good color for you. I think I prefer the 12s to the 14s, especially the back view. The jacket seems to fit, though I am puzzled by how the bottom of the front hangs when buttoned, which could just be the photo angle. To my eye, the blazer is not too short, unless you want a boyfriend look. Do you like the sleeve length? It looks pretty good online. The blazer seems great from the back.

How do they feel on?

Oooh! I am so glad we got to see these items in the outdoor light. It shows how lovely you look in this colour. And let me tell you, people. Sveta is a champion Fabber, because it is very hot today and trying clothes on was probably not the first thing she had in mind for her Friday evening. I must say the whole outfit is quite fetching with the cute striped tank!

I am going to be pretty much useless here, because I want you to keep it all! Seriously...I like the idea of the straight legs but seen in the bright light the fit might be a bit on the loose side. Not overly so, as you say...but they are sort of betwixt and between. I still like them, however. I also like the second pair, as long as they are comfortable. I vote wear them around the house (carefully) and compare how you feel in each. Does that make sense?

I think the blazer is great! It doesn't seem too short, in the sense that it feels all "of a piece" so to speak. This seems to be the way it is supposed to be. But of course if you want a longer jacket, this would not be the one.

In the closed photo the bottom looks uneven. This could be the way you are standing, however.

What are your thoughts?

Wow. A pretty cool suit.
I do like the snugger fit of the 12--funny about the pants style. It doesn't really look too wide-leg to me and seems to fit the blazer style. I need some other opinions. though. Did you try the straight's in a 12?

I agree the front buttoned jacket look is off somehow--need to know if that's just wrinkles, or what. The blazer is not "long", but neither is it cropped or shrunken-appearing. I think it looks pretty "classic" (uh-oh) and really skims your curves well but is not too bulky, so I like it. It "follows" the line of the pants and gives a nice continuity, you know? Instead of some of the short jackets that on me seem to just sit on top of my rear.

Love navy for you. The jacket fit is so wonderful it simply must stay.
For the pants - I find it a bit tricky. They both look great so it comes down to a case of what your preference is. I find the first pant more "menswear" style, relaxed fit. I love them.
The second is more fitted, streamlined.
I guess I have to suggest keep them all. I can see room in your closet for both styles - if that is an option.

Sveta, you look fab in blue! I actually like the size 14's better. I think the 12's look like they are pulling a bit in the front. Also, your mother could alter the 14's to fit you perfectly (but I think they fit very well now). I think the length of the blazer is good.

You guys are amazing! I have not noticed the unevenness of the blazer front myself. It is not how I stand, there is about 0.5" difference in length between the sides! I guess I got the faulty one
so it goes back for sure but should I order another one? Should I try to order Tall from US?

As for the pants I don't know. I would prefer a bit of easier fit than I have in 12. I f you look closely in pic 4 you would see hot it stretched on my hips. So I prefer the fit of 14 in the front and maybe even in the back: it seems more intentional IYKWIM. But I prefer the fit of 12 from the side...hmm, maybe 14 can be altered a bit to be just perfect?

Suz, honestly I was so excited I have not noticed the weather. Also it was not as hot at 5:30 as it might have been during the day. What do you think of this navy color for yourself? I think it is a very nice shade of navy, saturated and dark.

Glory, nope, 2 pairs of navy trousers would be overkill.
Personally I prefer straight legs because I like menswear vibe AND because I would get more wear out of them weather wise.

I'm glad I wasn't hallucinating about the jacket. I saw the hitch and thought it looked a little off, but wasn't sure whether it was just something hanging up on something else. Actually .5" shorter? That's crazy. What a strange defect.

Sveta, I agree with the others that navy is beautiful on you. I really like the jacket and the suit overall. If you are looking for a current classic, this suit is it. Lots of flexibility to make it more fashion forward with what you pair it with (shoes, shirt), but also perfectly adaptable to the most conservative environment too.

On the trousers, I really prefer the smaller size. The little bit of tightness on the hips doesn't bug me. I also know that it will stretch out as you wear it and it should fit perfectly. The view from the back is so nice and perky with the 12s. I don't think the 14s look nearly so nice. With that said...I also know that the right tuck/trim by your mom will bring the rear in on those 14s and they will probably look just as lovely. I'm willing to put my full support behind either option. So bottom line is that I'm really no help at all. You look beautiful no matter how we slice it!

I can't get over how well pants fit you! I love the look of this in navy and all fit issues seem tweakable so go with what you love most.

I like all of them, Sveta! I would definitely exchange the jacket, but I quite like the different vibe of the trousers.

Agree with you on the trousers fit, I like the 14 from the front and rear but the 12 from the side. I would probably go with the 12 but then I dont have a good tailoring option.... I would think the tall jacket might better. (I may have a sugar eye for long jackets though) If it isnt hard or more expensive to order the tall from the US why not try it? (or does that take a drive down to the border for try ons?... perhaps why you are trying to convince Suz to consider! ) I think the color is quite lovely on you...

You know, your mother can alter the trousers either way. And it is not far to the border. Why not try the jacket in tall and (unflawed) regular side by side? You can always return them immediately if they don't work and then it is no loss (except time, which you don't have a lot of right now with your work schedule!)

I'm going to check the suit tomorrow in the store. I think the navy would be good for me, too.

Definitely the 14 in the pants. The 12 have a very snug, body con look in the back that looks dated compared to the more fluid looks that I'm seeing these days. It's funny how quickly our eye can adjust to this newer fit.

And I like Suz's idea to try out a tall in the jacket, if you can get to the US, although the shorter length of the regular size also looks fine to me; again, the longer length seems a bit more fluid, but really it depends on the look you prefer in a suit.

How wonderful to find a well made (well, minus the lopsided blazer) that gives such nice proportions on your tall physique! The color is gorgeous, and the lines are classic.

I vote for the 14s, although both work, and I think just getting another blazer like this one works.

Sveta, I like the fit of the 14 best. It's stunning as a suit but definitely order another jacket.. .how strange. BTW the navy looks just lovely on you.

Thanks for the feedback, ladies. I have tried the pants again and I am going with 14 straight: I really like the menswear vive it gives. I only wish I had a better body type for this style (like less curvy bottom) but oh well!
I have also tried the new plaid pants again and they are cut smaller that the navy: about 2 cm difference around. They actually fit perfectly so I think these 2 cm is what makes a difference in a fit. I will ask my mom if she can alter the navy trousers to fit like the paid ones and then I would be a happy camper!
As for the blazer it is really weird how uneven it is in front. Suz, please let me know if you see them in the store how they look. I begin to worry that maybe they are cut this way on purpose but it does look weird, right?
I would also like to try a blazer in Tall to compare. I think it will be close to length to my tuxedo blazer: website says they have 2" difference in length. Although if Angie thinks this length is good maybe I should not bother?...

Oh, this is the blazer I want to try in black! I like the fit on you, but that's so annoying about the uneven sides. I like the straight leg style (and agree they are more versatile, which is why I'm keeping the ones I got too) but they do look slightly too loose from back and side, so if your mom can take them in a teeny bit it would be perfect.

I like the blazer a lot but I think longer could look even better. I like the seat of the 12 better than the 14, but the front of the 14 better. Maybe your mom could do some magic there as well? Just want to give my honest opinion.

Does the blazer dip in the front? It seems longer from the front than it does from the back. The back looks disproportionately short. From the front it looks just fine to me. The 14 is fine on fit but pools too much at the foot for my taste and the 12 isn't as roomy but fits better IMO. However on the 12 you lose the length and they need to be a little longer. This is a great suit. You might convince me to pick up one myself.

Agree with Day Vies about the front versus the back.
How outrageous that they are selling the asymmetrical jackets. I saw according to Suz that it's not a one-off. I wonder if that has something to do with the length in back.

Just chiming in to say you look fab in navy! I would go with the 14 pants and if they feel too loose, get a little nip in the waist or wherever you need it. Nice length on the pants. I agree with Angie, would like to see the tall blazer too.

These jackets are definitely a bit shorter in back -- designed that way on purpose. But the front unevenness is not part of the design -- it is a flaw.

I went to the store yesterday and they had these blazers. I found 1 in size 12 and 1 in size 14. 14 had nice and even sides but was too big. 12 fits well bat sides were a bit uneven even though not as much as in the first one. Fortunately I asked if they have others in size 12 and they did. She brought it for me and it was perfect so I returned the online one and got this one on 40%
Then something funny happened. When I was exiting the store the alarm went off. The guy looked in my bag, saw my purchase all wrapped up and waved me through...but when I came home I discovered the security tag was still on the back of the blazer! Now I have to go to the store again to remove it!
Thank you Suz for alerting me to the 40% sale yesterday!

Yay! Glad you got it.

I just tried mine on. I was in such a rush yesterday that I could not. I cannot get pictures today because I am at my brother's place.

Well, I took the petite, but I think I made the wrong decision. The pants are too short in the rise, and the jacket feels a bit tight under the arms. I am going to try to go to the store and see if I can do a comparison tomorrow -- possibly trade in for the regular size. Of course I would need alterations in that case, but that is part of the price of being an in-between size.

So funny, yes! I knew I was taking a risk but only had a minute to decide and thought at least this way I would get the sale price -- if i exchange it they will give me the same price. So it was worth the risk.
