Today's outfit vs. last week's outfit featuring the same blazer, boots, and general silhouette.

Tell me which one you prefer, and why. All reasons, personal and objective, welcomed!

I think we should all take a turn at this game! I like #2. Still sort of new at this, so not good at articulating, but the sweater line of #2 looks like it hits at the narrowest point and I think creates a better shape. Plus, I just love the addition of more citron and another texture.

Both have your signature flair, but the knitwear is a bit of signature for you, and the energy the green brings, and the way it ties into the jacket, it terrific, and very Diana.

I like #2 better. The same color trousers as boots creates a long leg line. And I like the pop of green in 2 that brings out the trim in the blazer.

I want everyone to jump on board this bandwagon!

First, I love both outfits. But for you, I prefer #2. Here's why:

The black boots and pants bookend with your hair and ground the look. The white shirt with the tails sticking out is a playful take on a classic -- more in tune with what I know your style preferences to be -- but that's not the only reason I like it; I also like the proportion here, with the sides of the shirt's hem neatly following the curve of the jacket yet dipping a little below that in front. The hand knit is completely you -- original, textural, vivid. And the trim on the jacket picks up that colour. The grey, citron, and white/ cream bring light and attention to your face. And all together, this makes for a very cohesive, yet unusual and original look.

The other one is great, too, but looks more like what a lot of other people might wear. And there is nothing wrong with it. And I like it on you a whole lot. Just not as much as #2.

For me, #2. Why. Why. Um...I like it? I think because it feels both more individual and more cohesive. #1 has elements that a lot of people might have put together. And I happen to love that green, so the larger dose of it is great, in my eye. I just find the look very pleasing visually.

Hi Diana,

I think of you as someone who showcases hand knits beautifully and whose outfits are very current, interesting, and texture rich. Going with #2.

#1 is OK and you always look cute but I think a key feature of your style is wearing something unexpected but perfect (green vest).

You have a very cool original style and you are great at layering!

Ok, I'm the odd one out here. I don't prefer #2 because the lower expanse of white makes me focus on the belly area. Not in any way a bad area but I want to be led up to your face and #1 does exactly that. I think you also look very curvaceous in #1 and for me there's too much visual weight in the front torso area of #2.

I'd say definitely #2. You look great in #1, but it has a very simple, classic feel, while #2 is more texturally interesting and has more of the creative, unexpected element I associate with your style. I also like the longer leg line
with the dark jeans.

I like 2- the green sweater is beautiful and I think the color of the pants plays really well with the jacket.

I like number 1 for its proportions -- fewer horizontal lines to chop the body up. The black of the boots, the belt, and your hair. The jacket gets to be the star, with its neon border.

Number 2 seems to fit your personality (as I know it, anyhow!). Fun, unexpected layers.

I'm also on Team 2.

Like Suz, I like how the proportions work with the shirttails out. And the color of the knit piece is so fresh and fun. I think the darker jeans (pants?) work better than the classic blue jeans, also. Both are great, though.

I can also see Vildy's point about where #2 draws the eye. I could imagine a similar look but with a vest with a lower neckline and lower waistline that would balance the proportions differently and address that concern, but I like #2 a lot!

I love both -- and I think the blue of your denim in #1 adds a brightness and energy to the overall look. But I think I prefer #2 because the dark bottom half is so grounding and it automatically sends your eyes up to the most interesting element -- that beautiful vest that plays with the citron piping of the jacket.

Ha! I'm claiming a seat on the bench. Both of these look really great. Both look different. If it were life and death, I'd choose #2, but only because it has a handknit in it and that always gets me. I don't think it has an objective aesthetic or style edge over the other.

I prefer #2 (still wowed by it) and I think the main reason is that I don't like the neckline of the top in #1 with the blazer. I also think I prefer the longer top line on you with the skinnies rather than tucked in top - I am very particulat about the proportions and they feel better in #2 to me.

Both are nice, but my preference is for 2 (and I have not read any other comments) I like the low contrast of boots and pants and the low over high shirt.

2: it's artsier and I love the almost peplum effect of the shirt tails. Also, something about the darker skinnies is sending my eye back to your face, whereas in the second outfit I go more to the light jeans & light shirt.

But you look good in both.

Ha! There is actually a handknit in BOTH of them. The white top in #1 is handknit, although it's hard to tell in the full body pic.

I will be back to respond to you all in more detail after I eat dinner. But thank you all for indulging me! And yes, Suz is right, everyone should play this game.

Haven't read the other comments both look "good" but imo #2 is the winner hands down. It's a very personal look for you - the other although lovely is more generic. Also in the second one my eye is drawn to your lovely face. In the first one there are more resting places - the top of your boots the fading on the thighs of the jeans, your belt.

I voted for #2 because it's so much more interesting. Even just viewing the thumbnails, before I enlarged, I really was drawn to 2. The vest is awesome and adds textural interest. The vest and shirttail work together to make the proportions work. Wouldn't look nearly as good with the shirt tucked, imho. I also like the black pants...just the right amount of contrast. #1 is quite nice. #2 is inspired.

DRAT! I'm done for. If you knitting skills weren't so keen, I would have seen that. But no, you are stealth professional super knitter. Definitely bench, then. You just look too gorgeous in both of them for me to choose a favorite.

I like #1. Where the undershirt falls in #2 is not best flattering. if you put on that green top in #1, I think you're home run.

You know I'm still liking #1. Went back to check out the amazing handknit in that one and I see a vee notch neckline that echoes the small neon bound vee notches in the blazer lapels and also picks up the line of your chin.
