My Favourite Jacket - 26.11.15

Hi Fabbers,

Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate it!

Some of you may know that I love all things black. It happens to be my favourite color; the most dominant color in my wardrobe.

However, when it comes to leather, I prefer shades of brown (and burgundy) over black. I believe that these colors look richer, more classic, and elegant in leather, while black has a more 'rock star' vibe to it.

This happens to be my favourite jacket in the world. Not only do I love the rich color and classic design, this jacket has some very precious memories attached to it. Let's just say it makes me feel 'thankful' for the love of my life; my darling husband, who is truly my soulmate and my best friend.

I've found out here on YLF that brown is not one of 'my' colors since I have winter colouring, so I decided to add a shade of blue nearer to my face.

The scarf is a gift from Diane G; a very close friend and an important person in my life. I'm thankful for her friendship, warmth and kindness every single day.

So that's my casual outfit for Thanksgiving as I celebrate everything I love and cherish The support acts here are my brown leather boots and blue skinny jeans (pretty old now).

I agree with ABC, this is lovely and cohesive with the repeating shades. Your brown boots are such a good match to your fab jacket, it's like they were made for each other. Of course you know I like how the scarf looks

Actually, I think these kinds of taupey browns can work well for winters sometimes...this particular brown seems to have a cool undertone. It might not be your absolute "best" but it definitely flatters!

Yes, I do think that has a cool undertone, and suits your coloring the best way. But, the scarf is a brilliant idea and color next to it and your face, you did it like a pro, and looking fab!:-)

Maneera, firstly - I love this hair length on you, it's so sophisticated and suits you beautifully.

The jacket is wonderful. I loved reading your thoughts about the colours of leather jackets and found myself nodding to your words. The jacket and boots are a perfect match, the whole outfit is styled perfectly ands there is no leather overload. I think the scarf plays much bigger role in keeping the overall balance, although I can't deconstruct why it works so, so well! Repeat this one often. Thank you for sharing.
