I've just finished my fall/winter shopping and couldn't be happier with my purchases. Now that the dust has settled, these are the new acquisitions that have earned a place in my closet:
BR "Sloan" ankle pants in black/white windowpane check and navy (1/2)
Halogen pencil skirt in red (3)
Philip Lim for Target "Boom!" sweatshirt (4)
Theory double-breasted blazers in light gray and olive (5/6)
Michael Kors blouse in magenta/black peacock feather print (7)
Black mixed media moto jacket with olive sleeves (8)
BR navy tweed jacket with faux leather trim (no photo yet but like this one)
BR black and white graphic print sweater (no photo yet but it's this one)
Zara white flared midi (5, 13)
American Apparel lightweight sweatshirts in three colors (9/10/11)
Via Spiga black booties (12)
"Fauxkala" leopard print ankle strap pumps (13)
ETA forgot these:
Cropped sweatshirt from Zara (14)
Citron sweater (15)
Black jersey dress from the consignment store (12)
ETA 2:
And this wasn't a purchase, but OMG I am so in love with my new green Nanette Lepore bag, courtesy of Adelfa from the YLF swap at Shoptoberfest!! (5/6)!!
Some observations:
1. Even though this felt like "really cutting back," it adds up to about $1,000 for just one season! Yikes!
2. Overall, there is less "fast fashion" and more high quality items than I'm used to purchasing. Fortunately almost all of it was purchased on sale, with the exception of the Philip Lim sweatshirt, the Zara skirt, and the Fauxkalas.
3. Holy cow, this is a lot of clothing! It's pretty shocking because I really did feel like I was cutting WAY back compared to the clothes-purchasing bender I'd been on for the past couple of years.
4. This is what I ended up with, but there were a whole bunch of purchases and returns to get to this point.
That's my report. Anybody else care to chime in?
