My fab new midi from tracina has arrived! :) ... WIW; and new jacket!

Dear YLF,

A beautiful parcel was sitting on my step this morning! And viola! I am much in love with this beautiful midi from tracina! I will eat my words! I thought midis would never work for me! I had a ton of fun today styling it (3-6).

I also picked up an interesting topper today while I was out returning other things (2, 3); it's sateen-y kind of a sheen, but I think it toughens up my look, no? Anywhoo, I'm in love with it as well!

Much pardons must be asked for; for the cheating in pic 6; I couldn't get my trench to photograph well, so I went online to steal a pic. Ditto with my new midi. But I hope you will all forgive me! Also, the pics of my outfit I was wearing today (1) didn't really work out; this is the best one of the lot. lol.

Any suggestions for styling either new purchase would be much appreciated;

Ooh! The midi skirt looks fantastic, cheers to Tracina for sending it along. Perfect length and color for you. All your stylings with it look great, and I'm especially fond of #5 and the shoes in #4 paired with it. Cute little jacket, too! Even though it's sateen-y the moto cut keeps it looking tougher. I think it's a great way for you to get a little toughness without sacrificing too much girlishness (erhm, hope that makes sense?).

Looks great Lyn! That skirt looks great on you and I'm so glad that Tracina sent it to ya! Looking at it on you I realize that A. it probably wouldn't have fit me in the hips, and B. i doubt it would have been a midi on me!

Ack, love it ALL. I admit I had hoped the midi wouldn't fit you, but how can I argue with success. The shiny black jacket is killerific - I have a similar one, but I wish it was more fitted, like yours.

How did you take your outfit pics for the app? I tried to do this once, and nothing came out right because the backgrounds wouldn't remove correctly on the website I was using.

Wow, you've done it again! Love these combinations, and love that midi skirt on you. It's great the way you've showed it moving from summer into fall/winter with different items in your wardrobe. I'll bet it turns into a real workhorse item for you.

The new topper is very nice. I was going to say cute but it isn't cute. As you noted, it adds a touch of tough for you. The midi is very nice too and I like how you have styled it.

Elly - thank you so much for your kind words; I am already scouring ebay for another of these skirts, hopefully in a navy blue or a brown

Rae - I took my pics on a high contrast background; and I often cheat. If the retailer has the pic of the item on a solid coloured background, I upload it into the app. No need to reinvent the wheel, right?

Tracina - thank you so much for sending this beautiful skirt to me! I hope that we will have many fun adventures together! I am already planning on taking it to the passport office :p

I love the RED skirt and how you styled it.

I was checking similar jacket to the one in no.5 the other day. Is it made from seersucker?

Ornella - I have no idea what seersucker is :p The tag on it says that it is made from acrylic, polyester and spandex.

Seersucker is a type of fabric, in gingham pattern but looks like parts of it are overstretched.
