Well guys, the small capsule wardrobe is still working pretty good for me. If anything, I'm having a hard time finding enough tops to fill all my slots. For my (almost) 10 core items I have:

4 jeans
2 silk blouses
3 pullover sweaters

I'd like another blouse or sweater but I can't find what I want. The elusive "luxurious chambray" shirt and the "not quite white" drapey, opaque button front are turning out to be HEWIs. I'll probably end up with another fine-gauge sweater.

For extras, I have:

blazer
cropped trench
full length trench

Someone asked about my shoe collection last time so here they are. Because our weather is still in transition, it's not unusual for me to be in sandals in the afternoon and boots at night. I'm mostly in ballet flats though.

In addition I have 4 belts, one scarf and a handful of jewelry. In the garment bag is a dress, a cardigan and pumps (all of which I'd like to get rid of, but I need them for a wedding in December--I'll consign them afterwards). Behind that are 6 summer items that I'm saving for next year.

I think it would be easier to tell you what I had from last calendar year, than to tell you what's been purchased this year, lol! The striped sweater was bought in December last year, the tan sandals are a few summers old, and the boots are the only thing left that pre-date my participation on the forum. Other than that, everything was acquired this year. I've been very, very busy. I bought the faded jeans at the SoCal meetup (which replaced my only pair of jeans from last year) and I just did a one in-one-out with my white jeans. The ones I took to L.A. bagged out terribly, and I was able to find a better pair at Last Chance.

Someone asked, so the black jeans with the leather knee patches are Joe's, Both dark and faded blue are AG "The Legging" (all from the Rack). Other items that can still be purchased are the Brooks Brother's khaki trench, AGL flats (try Ebay for these if you know your size), Okala pumps (Zappos or Nordstrom) and the Elliot Lucca colorblocked clutch in neutral (Nordstrom). The rest was procured by my usual thrifty methods (Goodwill, Savers, Other Mothers, My Sister's Closet, Last Chance and my new fave, Nordstrom Rack).

I have to say, stumbling upon that little cream Celine jacket has turned me into a very discriminating shopper. Now that I know what serious quality, fit and design look like, I'd rather pass than settle for something that can't hold it's own next to it. Aaaaaand maybe that's why I only have five tops right now!
What am I wearing right now? Gear, of course. One thing at a time!
