Wow Claire! (Did you know you share my daughter's name?)

Reading this has been an inspiration and ever so thought provoking! Whilst I could never cut my wardrobe that small - not with my current life style - there are certainly some aspects of yours that I could try to aspire to!

I agree that you should treat yourself to some great lounge wear if you have any wish to do so. I am trying to limit my sweats and tee shirt wardrobe into something a little nicer because if I don't all my family will ever see me in is sweats and a t.

Wow, Oh Wow!(quoting Steve Jobs:-))! I always love to see you posting, Claire!! These 10 pieces, and all your shoes and bags are more than gorgeous! It shows you have great taste and are so disciplined! No wonder it all works as a dream! I just wondered about your balerina flats, are they all 3 the variations of the same style (noticed they are buckled the same way) only different colours and textures...so, did you triplicated your fave one style? OMG-This is the most minimalist aproach of the minimalism itself!!!:-)
Angie had a post last week about the risks and the advantages of duplicating an item, how do you feel about that?
(sorry if double inquired with any others here, I have not yet read all the comments! Even if you seldom post- you always have the biggest audience!!:-)

Claire.......this is Fabulous.......I love every single piece and would really like you just to do one big post with all of your combinations
Even though I have more in my wardrobe, I do find myself wearing my favorites and I just love neutrals and the simplicity of a capsule.
So.... there is hope that I may eventually evolve

I don't know whether to be relieved (that my sweater wasn't the only one that pilled), sad (because after all, it is a lovely sweater) or angry on your behalf and mine. Hmmm. Well, this is the issue with knits -- and price doesn't seem to be any indicator of longevity. I suppose they are softer when the fibres are shorter and this is in turn what leads to greater pilling...I have told myself I will wear it this year at least.

For your blouses, I meant "see them in action." And hear about how these ones work better (so far) in your capsule, and why. And why you like the cut and shape, etc. I am always very interested to hear about this stuff. These specific realizations are the ones that can really move us forward, I think. At least into a wardrobe that actually works for our lives.

Without a doubt, you are my new minimalist heroine. Your wardrobe is incredible and the fact that it is so curated makes my heart sing.

Amazing - an inspiration to the would-be minimalists among us!

Suz, my BR sweater is also looking worse for wear. Still wear-able, thankfully, but definitely not pristine.

A work of art, truly!

Hil, your daughter has a great name! I agree that I should upgrade my loungewear. I'm just not sure to what. I was having fun "dressing for dinner" this time last year, and wearing my nice clothes (skirts anyway) around the house. But the effort was completely lost on my family. I love them, but they dress like slobs at home. Since I couldn't convince them to change, I guess I cheerfully joined them!

Debra, thank you, I'll see if I can oblige. I just got a tripod so I can take better outfit pictures. I used it for the first time with this post, but I need to figure out the timer feature on the camera.

Suz, definitely! I love to try and figure out why things work (or don't). In the end, it's just my opinion about these prints, but I will gladly share it. I'll take some close-ups today for you.

Claire, you are amazing. I am such a fan. Being on the opposite end of the spectrum with a huge wardrobe I love reading about your minimal one. You always look so chic and put together. Don't feel bad about wearing gear at home if that is what is comfortable and makes you happy. Just make sure next time you replace your gear you do it with items that make you smile. There are some gorgeous yoga pants, soft pretty tee shirts and lovely cardigans/jackets out there that will make you feel great as well as comfortable.

I'm new and can't see the pics but just had to say you are an awesome inspiration. This has always been my goal but I live in a 4 season state and it seems impossible to live with 10 items- at least that's my reason or would that be an excuse? Anyway, look forward to following your minimalist journey.

So glad to see you post! I'm pressed for time, but I wanted to say that you are managing to look so consistently stunning with this approach, and it seems to give you more confidence, too. You aren't questioning your choices each day. That is beautiful!

(But I second, Mo, spring for some great gear -- try the Rack).

Such streamlined elegance! You could teach classes about this, Claire. Well done.

Very impressive indeed Claire. Queen minimal!

I love looking at your wardrobe, Claire - because a person can actually do that in one go. It's like a drug. Just superlative editing and discipline. Nothing wasted. Always on message.

And it's amazing how you don't ruin anything wearing it! Lol. I am so hard on my clothes. I don't know how it happens...

Claire, this looks like a collection rather than a simple wardrobe. You are a wonderful curator.

I just don't understand how you do it. Don't you sweat?! I can't wear something more than twice before it has to get laundered.

Fab post & I hear you about quality items. Your wardrobe is amazing & you are inspirational

Yay! You need to start your own blog, your process and pictures are so inspiring!

My closet only looks like this when I travel. It's so freeing to be so organized and be so well put together in a snap. You make me want to throw out 98% of my clothes… but that's not going to happen. Your capsule is fabulous!

Wow, Claire! I'm filled with admiration for the discipline and vision you've shown in putting together such a workable, cohesive, an minimal wardrobe.
Every single item is beautiful and works so well with the others. I need to take lessons from you to quit being so scattered and impulsive with my choices.

Claire, it was a pleasure to watch your wardrobe "adventures" over those years: you definitely arrived where you want to be - in style!
You are so disciplined and focused, it is very inspirational and while such an extreme minimalist wardrobe would never work for my climate and lifestyle it does make me want to evaluate mine!

Hi Claire, your posts ALWAYS send me into a spin of thinking about your minimalistic approach and how it might work for my medium closet!
I too tend to like very comfy lounge wear, and have found that sized-up and soft denim jeans work quite well for a small step-up from track-pants for relaxing. And wearing an apron whilst cooking and eating the evening meal.
Even though you have been scarce on the forum recently, I am sure I speak for all that we have been thinking fondly of you.
Bring on a healthy 2014!

Wow! Maybe this will inspire me to cull even more stuff from my own closet!

You are an inspiration Claire. The capsule is so coherent. You have an eye for quality as well as style. I can really learn from you. Thanks for sharing.

I always enjoy your posts because they are very inspiring for me. I've been working on culling my closet to a more minimal size while catering to my 4 season climate. When I see your posts it reminds me of what I'm trying to do and what the end result can look like, a dream closet to me. It looks like a boutique with such well thought out items in it. Thanks for sharing!
