more drapey cardie pics - YouLookFab Forum

I've been very slack in taking photos lately. Interestingly, some of the most recent outfits I have photo'd all feature the same long drapey cardie I got from Target earlier this year. It sure has got a workout this winter!

First, the JBrand zip ankle jeans I ordered on shopbop. They fit! Very fitted in the thigh and knee, but I was complaining that my other black jeans were too loose, wasn't I? The 32 inch inseam is perfect, although they still don't meet the ground...anything less would be too short!

This pic was also taken after my "yearly" haircut (it had been nearly 10 months since the last one). I was a bit dissapointed she didn't take more off. All that hair is going to get very hot over summer. I think I might go back in a few months time and get some more chopped off.

Next another cardie and jeans look. This time paired with looser jeans, converse and a Babushka pin to keep it in place.

Final look was a quick change from the above outfit to go out to trivia. Jeans were swapped for a skort, and boots replaced the cons and a flower pin replaced the Babushka pin.

Those jeans are perfection! Love the zipper detail. So envious of your height: you carry off both the ankle zip jeans and the long cascading cardigan SO WELL.

Lovely hair cut too!

I also have to add that I smile every time I see you in your Con's. I wish I could pull off this look as well as you do.

Tam, I love the drapey cardie and the zippered jeans on you. Honestly, to date, I haven't seen anything look less than amazing on you I tried on the very same cardi and it just hung on me, limp and overwhelming.

Joy & EllenM, I was actually worried this cardie wouldn't be very versatile when I bought it but thought I'd give it a shot anyway. Wearing it different ways has proved me wrong!!!

Shiny, I am so glad the jeans work too! I always wear cons with skinnies, so I worry a bit when I see that is not a look people here recommend. Oh well But don't worry - you wear things I could never get away with either - like your gorgeous high heels!!

Vani you are too sweet. I assure you lots of things look less than stellar on me, but I try to avoid buying them now, thats all. Did your Target stores get the same merchanise over there? I wonder how common that is!

San the colour is more of a maroon than a plum, although it is quite a blue maroon if that even makes sense (I am not very good with colours).

Louise & Marianne, I like the pins too. They are perfect to keep the cardie in place when I am moving about and cover across the body front to provide extra warmth when needed.

Shana thanks so much. I am so glad these jeans worked out - buying them online was a bit of a risk for me since I have never tried that brand on before.

And Angie thanks for tipping me off about the jeans in the first place!! I'm excited I managed to find them in black as I needed new black skinnies anyway. I am liking these a lot better than the black zipped tights I see in shops here. I need to wear them lots before it gets too hot over here to do so!!

Tam, I think it was just one of those things that was so prevalent everywhere. Otherwise, I find there is a big difference in the merchandise they carry here and there.

Marianna my mum is half russian and half ukranian so I always have a soft spot for babushkas!! I wish it spoke it fluently like you...I went to lessons when I was younger, but stopped. Now all the grammar just confuses me!!!

And RoseAndJoan - more thanks!! I wasn't sure if the cardie + skirt was too much volume down below, but I felt good wearing it! It was a pretty casual event and it made a change from the skinnies I had been constantly pairing it with!
