Mo-vember Jacket Challenge Days 5-6: Gap Utility, Gibson Malachite

Got a little backed up with my challenge photos!

Yesterday, I chose to pair my uniform tee with earth tones. This jacket was initially pegged for donation, but I also felt like it would be a purge for the sake of purging. I guess it could still go, as it kind of serves the same function as a denim jacket. Will have to decide later in the month.

Today, I went to the Official new-hire orientation for my company, which took place at a full line store - yay, no uniform! There was some guy in the alley when I got home, so I had to make do with an indoor shot.

In other news, the Rockport rain boots were the first of my possible "fun boots" to arrive. I was pleased to see that they claim to be anti-fungal, anti-mold, and anti-mildew. They are very, VERY comfy - zero toe pinching and a great arch curve! - however the color is more of a plum/eggplant than burgundy, and they are pretty darn warm. Would be great as a rain boot (which is their purpose), but I'm on the fence about crossing over into everyday wear. I don't think I'll return them quite yet, but I am not 100% sold.

i think i have a coarser color calibration than you do....this would be burgundy to me, but i do see the plumminess now that you point it out.

i don't get the warmth aspect. these look pretty cool tones on my monitor? or are you talking about its heat retention properties?

I really like the boots, too, but I wouldn't choose them for indoor wear. They look as if they'd be great for some of our Seattle/ Vancouver sisters, however! Very fun and nice looking.

I'm holding out for the other two pairs. These are okay but I don't thnk they fit your needs. Love the outfits! Go jacket challenge - I'm feeling inspired and am on track so far!

oops...yeah, you don't want sweaty feet. plus warm feet would increase circulation and vasodilation. boom! puffy feet.

Yay to the outfits, especially today's with the brilliant emerald blazer! The first jacket looks like a great casual jacket,why were you thinking of purging? I'm with Una on the boots, these don't seem like they'd work for your needs here. And still digging the messy hair, I cannot WAIT for the chop!! *rubs hands together excitedly*

Ohhhh, okay... the boots are going back! I can't get all wrapped up in a boot that "does it all" if does it all includes making my feet sweat at work. o_0 Angie pick Melin patent booties are on their way thanks to Nordstrom online chat, and I will order the Kork-Ease as well if/when I ever get my discount sorted.

Aida, I was in a purge mindset mainly because I counted all my jackets (including blazers) and realized that I have 27. On one hand, I feel like that's way more than one person needs. On the other hand, they are so useful in my climate and for my style. Tough call.

AND, I really cannot wait to chop, too! Considering even going to the more expensive guy, just because he's closer and more convenient. He is no better than my usual guy, IMO, but definitely no worse. And he's right down the street... *bites nails*

Hmm I think of jackets as a pretty paramount element to your style. If the jacket is still loved and still getting wear then I would say keep it. You could always replace it via 1-in-1-out if another jacket love comes along

I'd say stick it out for your usual guy if you like his cutting style for you. It'll be worth it!

The boots look cool but if they are already warm just wearing for a few minutes in the house, I think they'll definitely be too hot and sweaty for a full day at work.

That green malachite jacket is amazing! You look so great in colored stones (agate, malachite...) Too bad the boots were too warm. They look like a mini version of my Aquatalia rain boots! Hope you find something you like better!

I love the boots but not for indoor work boots. I like both jackets & wouldn't purge the army green one. The second one reminds me of one that Angie had in today's blog post on shiny pants. I love the jacketless outfit too!
