What Angie said....her outfit was stunning. Ralph Lauren I believe. Can't imagine walking in those heels but she seemed to have no prob. Michelle O looked great too, as usual.
Angie I can sooo see you in Audrey's coats!
When I was in London we saw an exhibit in Kensington Palace of gowns of the royals. Many worn by the queen, quite a few of Diana's, some of Princess Margaret's. All different styles, on mannequins behind glass. The royals consider it a sign of respect to wear a new dress at a state dinner for a head of another country, and to never wear it again, especially if the dinner is in the other country. I imagine the same is true for a first lady's inaugural outfit. And the queen does those monochromatic looks so her "subjects" can spot her easily from a distance. All the gowns were custom made of course with beautiful detail and fabric. They were designed by various English designers although I don't remember the names now.
I personally prefer the styles of women in leadership positions to those of celebrities.
