Melania looked amazing. I loved her outfit. So stylish. It is going to be fun to watch what she wears.

I'm the outlier here--I liked the structure of the dress, but my initial impression wasn't favourable, I admit. Maybe it's the history of plagiarizing that made me think, "Can't she forge her own style?" The powder blue made me think of baby wear, and it just seemed to clash with something in her skin tone and hair. I think the style would have worked better in a white crepe--it seemed to be the theme with her step-kids, and it's what she wore at the RNC. She looks best in white, and that could become her signature.

ETA: Maybe Clinton had dibs.

Yay, gradfashionista. Glad you brought up what Hillary wore. She looked KILLER STUNNING in her pant suit. The Winter whites are absolutely superb with her complexion. I was WOWED. Extremely elegant and chic.

AND I loved what Ivanka wore.

Ginger, I haven't seen Jackie yet - but will.

I have similar feelings to GF. I thought the dress and colour were gorgeous but not quite right for her. Also, why channel Jackie? Why not have your own style. Her hair was right though. Very simple.
Michelle does walk on water. I will miss her.
And Bernie Sanders dressed perfectly. All bundled up. That would be me.

I can't find a great pic of what Michelle wore today, but look at how KILLER STUNNING she was at the 2012 inauguration.

Thanks, JAileen. Another KILLER STUNNING look - and the most weather appropriate of them all. Michelle looks sad, doesn't she. It must be a weird, weird feeling for the Obamas to be "free" of the presidential responsibility overnight.

I think she must be exhausted - eight years going full speed, and then making sure their things get packed.

Both Melania and Ivanka looked stunning. I especially LOVED Ivanka's winter white outfit. Killer chic.

I can't resist posting Kellyanne Conway's outfit, aka, "Trump Revolutionary Wear".

If you can't resist, I can't resist.

Just to go slightly off topic, someone mentioned the British royal family in the comments above.. There's a fascinating book, Dressing the Queen, about the women who create and maintain her wardrobe (and get to work with her fabulous jewels too).

I didn't see Bernie! Sensible man.

I also didn't see Kelly Anne. That's not what she wore, is it? Are those bare legs?

Also: love Hilary in pointy shoes! The shoes are so important.

I loved Melania's outfit, especially the gloves! (I thought I read they were suede but that may be wishful thinking.) The pale blue stood out against the dark suits of the surrounding men and her son, and was complemented by her step daughters white outfits.

I thought Melania's baby blue Ralph Lauren inauguration outfit was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT -- so beautiful, so elegant, so chic, so tasteful, so stylish, and it showed off her amazing figure without being too tight. I'd love to wear that outfit myself! (I also liked the Roksanda Ilinicic 'Margot' dress she wore when she spoke at the Republican Nation Convention.) The match-matchy aspect of the single colour from head to toe feels fresh and modern to me rather than retro, and as someone else said, that it was a light colour rather than a neutral (and particularly a dark neutral) made it stand out from the sea of dark suits beautifully. Can't wait to see what she wears next!

Sarah

Fashion repeated itself. I think she is trying to set a tone for the next 4-8 years.

I did not like it myself but, she looked nice. I did not think that the collar suited her

I love Ivanka's outfit: chic and modern.
Melania's outfit is fine. She could have dared more, I think. But then, I really don't like pastel colors and probably I just can't go past the color

Melania, Ivanka and Michelle Obama looked fabulous. Hilary Clinton looked very elegant in the white/cream suit, but a bit dressier version would raise the outfit from very nice and elegant to fab for me.
Kellyanne Conway looked ridiculous in a marching band uniform. Sorry if it sound harsh, but that's how I see her outfit.

*PS: I looked at some more photos of Kallyanne Conway from inauguration and what really bothers me about her outfit are the red gloves and the hat. That much contrast makes the outfit look more like a costume in my opinion. It would look much better with a different colour and style of hat (blue or white, less helmet like), and blue gloves.

Interesting. Kellyanne Conway looked very "That Girl." 1960s as well, but late 60s and less sophisticated. A very different tone from the rest.

I'm starting to like Kellyanne. She's abrasive, but it's a complete-package schtick from top to bottom. All out. Whackadoodle 100%. A little Dolly Parton, except Dolly is such a doll. I love Dolly. She's a sweetheart.

Rachylou made me laugh. I agree but you have to be if you enter the political big top.

I loved this outfit on her and thought she looked indeed like a First Lady. There really was so much talk about her and Ivanka's fashion and neither disappointed.

Melania looked great as did Hillary. Kellyanne's outfit seemed bizarre. It's Gucci. https://www.gucci.com/us/en/pr.....at-p-45395
The metal buttons are cat heads? Interesting. Michelle always looks wonderful but yesterday I was more focused what she might have been feeling.

Oh well there you go. Kellyanne softened me up by wearing Gucci. Lol

While I appreciate the Oscar de la Renta winter white outfit, I think it was ill-fitting. An unusual miss, IMO.

It's interesting that most of the key (female) players went monochrome and low contrast. I love the look but it is a safe choice too. Kellyanne took more of a risk. I thought MT looked fabulous but I think the white jumpsuit that she wore on election night was more daring and original.
