Descriptions of your daily ensembles

Medusa Aug 30-Sept 11

I haven't been on the forum much because I've been swamped with work. Here's a catch-up thread with a bunch of outfits from the last couple weeks. As always I'd love your feedback.

1. Skinny jeans, red t shirt, blue jacket, Me Too flats.
This jacket wasn't so popular when I posted about it before, but I really like it and want to figure out how to wear it.

2. Jeans, black sweater, LAMB jacket, red Gelato sandals.
This is my first time wearing this jacket! I'm not sure how best to wear it - I kept the rest of the outfit simple since there's a lot going on with the jacket.

3. Microcheck pants, purple shirt, blue sneakers.
I love the Club Monaco microcheck pants and have been wearing them all the time.

4. Black skinny jeans, grey top, white blazer, and Anthropologie ribbon-tied oxfords.
This is my first attempt at wearing my new shoes. What do you think?

5. Jeans, black and white patterned top, black long cardigan, Keen shoes, green necklace.

6. Jeans, polka-dot camisole, black and white cardigan, Me Too flats, pearls.

7. CM microcheck pants, white blouse, red Ecco flats.
This day I had a major presentation at work, so I wanted to be a bit more dressy. I felt good in this outfit.

8. Jeans, blue camisole, grey blouse, Keen shoes, multi-colored necklace.

9. Jeans, J. Crew ruffled tank top, black cardigan, grey patent Oxfords, pearls.
I am trying to figure out good ways to wear the ruffled tank as a layer in cooler weather. I don't think this outfit worked that well, though.

I so need to stop playing on the internet and get myself into work. So more later. But your new shoe collection is SO AWESOME!

The LAMB jacket is amazing on you - and I really love your new cream/black ribbon tie oxford shoes!!

Great week! Your style is effortless chic!

I'm a huge fan of your style because it's so simple yet looks SO GOOD and is so you! You definitely have a bunch of killer outfits in this post!

How are the Anthro shoes for comfort now that you've worn them? They look delicious with your black skinnies! I really like your new grey patent oxfords too. What brand are they?

You were dressed very professional and smart for your presentation! Hope it went well.

I LOVE the blue jacket in pic #1. I'm glad you stayed with your instinct and made it work. Maybe it just needed the right touch, but now it looks great on you.
Your Anthro shoes and your grey oxfords I also LOVE. They make your outfits very special.
Now I have to go the other way and say the sneakers and the Keene shoes take away the "special" from your outfit. Sorry. (sad face) My eyes start at the top with the great haircut and I love the outfit, then I get to the shoes and they just do not keep up the good vibe with the rest of your great style. If you traded the sneakers and the Keenes for some of your other awesome shoes I would smile. (happy face)
You really do have a fun and interesting style that has evolved right before our eyes. When I see that you have posted pictures of your outfits I am very excited to look and see what you have come up with because you have a very cool style.

You look fantastic. I love each outfit.

Wow Medusa, I have missed your posts! I hope the work schedule becomes a little less hectic for you.

I love the colour combinations in your first outfit.

The LAMB jacket is fantastic, have you tried wearing your black skinnies, black top and your Anthro shoes with this jacket.

My favourite look is the black and white cardigan, with the polka dot top.

Good job Medusa.

Great outfits Medusa.
That LAMB jacket is to die for. Ribbon oxfords are super funky. You look great in skinny jeans, (no, seriously, you look fantastic!) I want to see more of them.
If you don't mind, I have quick suggestion. I think you have a really great collection of shoes now and it is time to retire the Keens.

Ps: I just read through other comments and realized that san made the same comment.

The shoes I like the most is the oxford shoes hehe! It makes me think of tap shoes xD. I like how your style is consisting and effortless chic!

Thanks for the comments! To answer questions:

Marianna, the Anthropologie shoes were really comfortable, more than I expected. My only problem is that I'm unfamiliar with biking in heels and my foot slipped off the pedal a couple times. I wore them all day - I have a mostly desk job, but some running around the office, to lunch, etc - and they felt fine at the end of the day. Yay!

San and Bella - I hear you about the sneakers and Keens. The problem is, they are the only shoes I have right now that fit my custom orthotics. My feet can't quite handle skipping orthotics every single day. So for now I need to keep them. I'm on the lookout for some better orthotic-friendly shoes to replace them, though.

That certainly makes sense and we still love you!

You have got it down, Medusa. A KILLER week.

To answer your question, you need a chunkier necklace to wear over the ruffle top in the last photo. That’s all!

Wow Medusa! You look amazing, I love each and every outfit! I envy you on that gorgeous LAMB blazer and those Anthro oxfords, such fabulous pieces.

I'm back. Lots of activity while I was gone. Well, you know I was going to comment on the Keens, right? But your explanation makes perfect sense. I hope you are able to find something that meets your criteria.

I think you look smashing all week. I am over the moon about those Anthro ribbon-tied oxfords. And after seeing those grey patent oxfords in action, I may need to get something similar for the winter. I love all the jackets, especially the LAMB blazer and the anorak. (Is it an anorak?) My only comment about those outfits is that I feel like the top is a smidge too short in both outfits. Those look like skirt length tops to me. What do you think?

I wanted to ask what comments you got about the longer jacket the first time around -- I really like it and am curious about what people thought didn't work?

Also loving those funky Anthro shoes. (Basically, my comments mirror San's.) There is great anticipatory pleasure in seeing your name on the What I Wore Today tab. :)

Awesome looks there Medusa!! Particular faves are the LAMB jacket and the long blue jacket. Love your red shoes and the red watch too!!

Thanks again for all the comments. Everyone here is so nice and positive, I have seriously been missing the forum with all my crazy work.

Angie, I'm so glad I got a killer rating! And great suggestion about the necklace. I'll have to try that.

Alecia, you may be right about the top length. I'll have to experiment with that.

April, I posted about the long blue jacket when I wasn't sure whether or not to get it. A couple people didn't like the collar, and someone pointed out that the jersey fabric won't be very long lasting. But it was one of those situations where hearing the negative comments actually was helpful, because I realized that wasn't the answer I was hoping to hear! So I realized that I liked it and wanted to keep it.

Aw, reverse psychology!! Very good thing to remember. If I am dissappointed that I get a negative feddback that means my heart is really into the piece!
