Leather skinnies showdown - which topper for reunion?

I got these leather skinnies (The Row!) from the consignment store. They fit rather like a glove, and I have to say the calf fit makes me really happy although I could stand to lose some weight in the mid-section.

Here are the top options I came up with based on your suggestions:

1. IronKurtin: Rocker black tee (thrifted, Lululemon)

2. Joy: Snake Equipment shirt

3. Hinge feather top (Aida has this top too), I think this is too short in front. These don't look as bunchy in the crotch area IRL, but there will be photos.

4. Eileen Fisher tunic. I'm actually thinking I could get away with this at work.

5. Joie cashmere tunic. My fave but not sure a sweater hits the right note.

6/7. Carven dress - was this Gryffin's suggestion? It's the side view that gives me pause. Not feeling so confident here.

Which one gets your vote? All feedback welcome!

Despite you almost eliminating it before including it, I far prefer #3. Although the top would, ideally, be longer, I really like the combination of the tonal quality of black with the pattern and the slight sheerness. I would eliminate #2. The other things are fine, but seem almost too casual. I know you don't want to be overdressed, but somehow a sweater just seems so casual. I don't really like the proportions of #6 (too long), but I rather like the effect of thigh-high boots the pants give with the black shoes.

I went through the photos again, and I STILL like #3 the best, but #4 would be my second choice.

I really like the carven dress outfit, but understand not feeling confident about the side view. I happen to think you look great in this, but what matters is how you feel about it. Second favorite is 5 with the asymmetrical hem. I'm wondering about the venue, since you're not sure a sweater hits the right note. This outfit is really stylish without trying too hard and fits you so well, seems like a great choice for many occasions.

I like them all, but the carven dress seems more special occasion vs everyday cool. Would a topper or vest help you feel less conscious about your middle?

I think if you feel a sweater is erring on the casual side I would up the ante on shoes jewellery or makeup.

The pants look great and fit you well.

On first glance, I liked 3 the best. I don't think there is a bad one in the lot though. My second choice is the tunic in 5.

They are all good, but I think the sweaters look too every day. I vote for the dress first or equipment top second.

#4 is my favorite, followed by #5 and #6. With the caveat that I'm so extremely not a leather-pants person that it's harder for me to warm up to the ones where they look more like pants than leggings. Although I can tell that you look great in all of them!

It's at a hotel and by Facebook discussion the dress code was downgraded to jeans and nice top level. I imagine some will still dress up and others not so much.

I'm surprised that 3 is getting some love!

#1, 4, and 5 are my faves in that order.

I like #2 but feel there may be a bit too much contrast and I feel the dress is a bit too long with the pants.

Have you tried the plaid shirt I copied? It would be similar to #2 but with less contrast and the colors are really good for you.

Una - May I say you look stunning in all of these outfit!! I love #1 - it's got that blogger I just threw this on and look amazing. I would wear this with a pearl and crystal minaudiere just for fun maybe with a long silver pendant - but I love the minimalist just as it is too. #2 looks wonderful but to me it reads more casual, not sure why and feel free to ignore. #3 love the blouse, colors, sheer but this is my personal read and I am totally fussy - short - I would not feel comfortable with it not covering crotch. But it's a great outfit and if it does not bother you disregard #4 - Looks fantastic on you. I would definitely wear this to work. A dress clutch and pendant would glizt this up. #5 - I adore. I lemminged the tambrel in charcoal and this is how i wear my leather leggings. Again - the accessories can amp up the formailty. #6 - I die for how gorgeous you look in this dress but my feel is the leggings are adding the bulk (not you) and they are a bit heavy with the dress. Would you consider swapping out black tights with booties? You look amazing and if you need leather what would your madewell leather moto vest or leather lanai do for this? I won't vote because you need to wear what is going to make you feel fantastic. What is the little voice telling you? Now is not the time to push the envelope - you want to feel great so you can forget what you are wearing and have fun!! For someone who had nothing to wear, you have pretty incredible choices!!

I love 1, 4 & 5. For the reunion I think 5. I think the sweater is a little dressier than the tee or tunic. Warmer too. If you want a jacket as a 3rd piece you could wear the tee in 1 so you are not too hot. Not saying you need a 3rd piece though. A necklace or purse could add some bling or something.

I love all of them, but find #5 to be very cool! And 3 appealed to me almost as much, I think because of the variation in texture and shades.

1, 5, 3 if the shirt was longer are my favs. 1 is a little more casual than 5, and leans more rocker, where 5 is more open to interpretation, leans more sophisticated to my eye.

I think #5 looks fantastic, yes maybe simple and conventional proportions but the asymmetrical hem adds interest, and I like that the outfit is very approachable--not required for the reunion, but useful, certainly-- and you especially look like you are "owning" this look--like something you actually wear. Add something a bit lighter in accessories if you can--? But otherwise this is "effortlessly chic".
Hey, it's pants and a top--certainly meets the dress code. Surely it's not a dress "law" ! I think it's just to guide people away from fancy dresses and such. The sweater hits the right note because it's with the leather pants. They are providing the drama and shine, as opposed to the folks who will be adding statement tops to their jeans. I mean, what is not "every day" if not jeans?

I think the dress is too long for this look.
I also prefer #5 for the overall look but don't know if this tunic is dressy enough for the occasion.
I also like #2 and you wear high contrast very well.
I tend to agree with unfrumped though: #5 may just fit the bill for the reversed formula: statement pants and supporting top.

I like 3,4 & 5 the best. Two might be too much contrast although I like the silhouette. Those leather skinnies are going to wow them no matter what you pair with them.

Commenting first, then I'll go back and read others thoughts. I rather like #3, but I understand what you are saying about it being short. I like #2 the equipment blouse, but for a this event, I'd unbutton another button, (but I'd have a black tank under neither), so that it looked more party and less work.
