Had a good week last week, and did something I NEVER do: I loved a new pair of shoes so much, I actually repeated them in the week!
Monday: Monochromatic a la Angie! I took Angie's advice about mixing in textures and patterns into a black and grey outfit, and the results were this:

Tuesday: New Nicole Blessed shoes, wisely recommended by the blog Barking Dog Shoes (great for seeing reviews on pretty, comfortable styles). They blog mentioned a fab brown pair, but once I saw these in red, purple, and brown I was sold! I went with a simple neutral palette to better highlight the shoes.

Wednesday: We are experiencing another bitter deep freeze, so it was time to bring out the Martin + Osa statement jacket. Sometimes I think this is a cop-out outfit because it doesn't require much creativity, but then I realize is so great it can do all the heavy lifting of the outfit.

Thursday: The Nicole Blessed shoes make another appearance! This time I went with a pants and jacket outfit in neutrals. I am really, really enjoying mixing up browns, blacks and greys this year. It feels like a sophisticated palette that elevates all my inherited clothes from Shopping Friend from making me look like I am always in 'boring black'.

Friday: My last day at my old job, so I wore my forgotten Michael Kors brown, mustard and purple dress. This one hasn't come out to play since the fall; I missed it!

I started my new job yesterday, and one of the first things my boss said to me was that when we out at the hospitals we had to be in professional business attire (suits, dresses, jackets and pants, etc) but for days in the office it could be REAL business casual! And everyone in the office is a young hipster, so I plan on enjoying myself! I have quite a few dresses and outfits that are on the border 'too casual' or short so I didn't wear them to my old job, but I will be trying them out here. Whooohooo!
