Killer Cute Dressier Fashion Puffer

Told you puffers are making a trendy fashion statement!

The toffee followed me home. (I ordered the red first - but it's NOT tomato red as the photo suggests. It's a lot more muted in person, and not "my red" - but might be yours).

It's Zara, but VERY well made. I was shocked. It looks like a designer piece. Stunning hardware and pipping detail. Genius positioning of the quilted paneling both in the front and back - VERY slimming. And fitted on the waist too. Gorgeous curved hem. The fabric has a sheen to it, which, along with the hardware gives it a dressier vibe. The tailored silhouette creates a more polished look.

You have to have a long neck to wear this style because the collar does not fold down. The furry neck inner is very cozy too. (AND there is a pop-out hood). Best on a smaller bust and defined waist. Runs small and narrow, but not short. Size up for broader shoulders. Looks good zipped and unzipped.

I LOVE my new glitzy short puffer, and will wear it with dressier items too.

I got a puffer vest recently which I love. Having neither a small bust or defined waist, this wouldn't be for me. Love the red though.

When I look at the photos, I am immediately attracted to the red, so I'm disappointed to hear it doesn't look as vibrant in real life. Do you think the puffer would work on petites? And I'm curious -- how do you tell if your neck is short or not?

Thanks for the kind words, ladies. I LOVE that the puffer does NOT look like gear. I have the “glitz gene”, and this puffer pandered to it. (Another thing. You have to like gold hardware to like this puffer).

Kathleen, it’s a HIGH neck, but perhaps it won’t bother you when worn open. Worth a try.

Banoffi, the puffer will work on petites if the sleeves aren’t too long. As for a long neck - visual assessment is best. I can wear HIGH necklines, and my neck STILL looks really long. My ears are far away from the top of even the highest turtleneck or popped collar. That’s why I’m a turtleneck gal. (Can you imagine how LOOOONNNNNGGGG my neck would look in a V-neck? Ridiculous). There isn't a forum member with a longer neck than me. Unfrumped and Style Fan give me some good competition though.

I think I saw someone else raving about this jacket (in red) today as well, calling it a Balenciaga lookalike.

My feeling is that it looks absolutely gorgeous but don't plan to wear it in full winter because all the cold air will float up underneath. I have a red tech fleece Nike hoodie from a couple years back that has such an elegant shape but that I can't wear as much as I would like for the same reason.

Tanya, I much preferred the yellow gold and chocolate piping of the toffee. Looked more chic than the white. The red is cooler - and probably suffieciently cool for you. It has gorgeous black piping and gold hardware. How are you with the gold hardware? There is ALSO a mustard in stores (not available online).

Ah, that makes sense Angie. I prefer silver hardware, obviously, but can handle gold as long as it is not too shiny and yellow. I would have to see it in person to judge, and would not wear it with my silver booties.

Actually a pair of winter weight cropped wide leg pants (aka culottes) would work beautifully with this puffer and tall boots - and keep the lower body parts from freezing....just saying

I believe Zara sizes typically run small, is that right? If I normally wear a size 4, or size small, on top, do you think a medium would be best with this puffer?

I am a dressy puffer addict and will have to stay well away from Zara as 4 dressy puffers are definitely enough. Although as I love them so much they get worn a lot. I am currently wearing one now!

One other comment ...you talk about having a long neck so this collar is perfect for you. I have a short neck and if I thought about wearing this I'd like the little brother in the move "Christmas story" when he's in his puffer snowsuit and hardly able to see out of the hood and scarf ....gave me a good laugh for a Saturday morning. How many of you have seen that movie?
