It as suppose to be dinner and window shopping...

...but before we even picked a restaurant, my girlfriend said wasn’t sure if vests would work for her so we stepped into H&M to prove that she would look great in a vest. Then one thing lead to another and we both had a huge armful of clothes to try on. Here are my purchases:

And yes, we found a great vest for my friend and finally had dinner.

OMG love the dress! I have been searching for a wrap dress but haven't been able to find one that is the right color/pattern. I will have to hot up H&M on my way home from NH this weekend.

All the purchases look great, I also love the floral cardi!

So, why did you friend think she couldn't rock a vest? I am curious because I feel the same way--I love the look of vests, but I admit I've never even tried on one because I just assume they'll look masculine on me.

Don't you love those unexpected finds?! All your purchases are beautiful, but the wrap dress is outstanding. It fits you perfectly! I have been craving an H&M wrap dress, but the last few I've tried on were not available in my size. I will be checking again when I'm near an H&M in 3 weeks! I hope this one is still available.

Beautiful! I love everything. I'm actually going to be near an H&M next month, and I've always wanted a wrap dress. Maybe I'll have to check it out. I love the florals - they can be used to brighten up a dreary winter day, but will still look great in spring/summer, especially the scarf.

Nicole, My friend is a pretty pear like me and didn't think she could wear one well. She probably tried on 6 in various styles and sizes. She had to go a larger size than she wanted (H&M has that European sizing!). She looked much better in the longer vest versus the shorter (I call it juniors because I don't know what else to call it) vest. I think the shorter one showed too much shirt in the back, whereas the longer one seem to flow down her slim waist to her hips. I didn't think it looked masculine at all.

Angie, I love the floral scarf, but I will need to think of different ways to wear it as part of an outfit. Right now I have the classic black turtleneck top...

Those are gorgeous purchases Eva, and they look so pretty on you!

Funny thing is, I was in H&M 10 says ago, sort of in a hurry so I couldn't try things on, but I made a mental note to try the exact sweater and exact dress that you bought ( and some third skirt)! So we might end up being twins

Great purchases, and the dress is absolutely stunning. Is it jersey? How lightweight is it? I love the color and pattern, and even though I can't wear wraps, maybe they have something similar in a different cut.

Marianne, it is a very lightweight jersey. It is a true wrap so it will open up in the wind. I am thinking I will need to safety pin it.

Eva, thanks again for your great pics and the inspiration. I just had to go to H&M myself this weekend and check out that wrap dress, and lo and behold, I found it and loved it and bought it, too! I hope you don't mind the copy-catting. I also bought another dress and two little cardis, and am happy as a clam with my new purchases. I'll post pics sometime this week.

I also saw the dress in person yesterday. I didn't try it on because wraps don't work on me, but it's absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately I didn't see anything in a similar fabric. I also wondered about how to wear it - it almost seems like you need a base layer like a slip, but a safety pin might work. It probably works great over skinnies. I am looking forward to your pictures, Antje!

Marianne, I have that dress but in different patterns from previous seasons and yes, I do need a safety pin on the skirt otherwise it will open too much, especially if it is breezy. I also wear a cami underneath too.

I am seriously thinking about getting this one too - I saw it in person and liked how it fit me, but I was undecided since I already have quite a few wrap dresses. Then, none in these colors... Eva & Antje, we may become triplets

I'll post pics this week for sure. I love the colors of the dress; Tanya, I think they'd be great for you, too. And you can't beat the price... I'll need a cami under the dress, too. And then I thought I might sew a little button into the skirt so I can fasten it and don't always have to remember having a safety pin handy. The dress is long enough on me that I can wear it as a dress rather than over skinnies; I was thinking of it mostly as a spring dress without pants. I run warm, so I wear bare legs relatively early in the year.

Antje, I'm glad you got the dress. Tanya, you will look beautiful in it. I was thinking of a safety pin, but Antje brings up a good point on remembering one. Antje, what do you button it into? I do have a hook and eye, maybe that eill work. I wore it with a black cami in the picture. I wonder if a turquoise would work too.

Marianne, why don't wrap dresses work for you? I thought they were universal.

Eva, I meant one of those little buttons that snap close (I just can't come up with the right word for it), not one with a buttonhole.
