Interview suit attempt #2

Yesterday I bought another suit. This one is by Tahari and it feels like it's a really nice quality suit. It's simple, but I bought a yellow top with studs on the neckline to funk it up a little bit. The work environment is very casual and I'm sure the guy interviewing me will be in jeans and Asics sneakers, so the studs on the top are totally appropriate (in my opinion). I think the suit fits really well... what do you think?

I do like this outfit better. The jacket is very flattering to your shape when buttoned, and you look great in that color top!

There's a part of me that prefers the lower stance on the first suit, but this one also looks very nice and classy on you.

Back to business, I think the suit is nice and safe but looks a little mature for you. Your work environment is casual and I guess you would like to be able to wear the suit as per Angie's blog on dressing up a suit for a party. I vote to keep looking but I'm obviously in the minority.

Without looking at anyone's comments here is my 2 cents:

Marianna, I LOVE the citron pullover. It's KILLER. Keep and enjoy. You and I are citron twins :0)

You look better in dark charcoal grey and black. I can't help but feel that this suit is just not youthful enough. Does that make sense? May I send you out again for a black or dark grey suit with clean classic lines? Sorry!!!

I like it better than the first suit, and I love the top! I agree that you look best in more modern, graphic colors and styles. Did you see any darker suits that might work?

I prefer the first one. The darker color flatters you more. I never commented on the first one...how prominent are the purple pinstripes? I have two black pinstripe suits and I don't really think the color of the pinstripes are so prominent to limit the suit's versatility.

Thanks again for all the input. I'm sort of out of time now and will probably stick with the first option because I do agree that it is younger. The pinstripe isn't really that noticible. I need to try it on with the jacket open and play around with it. It might not be that bad. I absolutely see Julie and Angie's point that the grey one is a bit too mature for me. Finding a youthful suit to fit my body is quite the challenge!

I fly back to Chicago tomorrow and might be able to run to Macys on Monday and see if I can find anything better. If not, I think the first one will be okay... hopefully.

The first suit is GREAT, Marianna! I much prefer it to the Tahari. I wonder what the citron top will look like underneath it?

Yeah, you're right. The picture I look of the first suit is sort of lousy. I need to take a picture with the jacket open! I'll try it on with the citron top. I think the black feels more like "me" anyway. I'll still try to get to Macys on Monday and see if I can find anything better, but if not, I think the black one will suffice.

First black suit is the winner. I left the grey suit at home for my mom to return and the black one is in my suitcase on its way to Chicago...

My mother (my second favorite stylist... heh) agrees that the grey is too mature for me, and noticed that it has shoulder pads which make my shoulders look wider than necessary. So black it is! She also told me to try it on with the citron top. Angie and my mom seem to be on the same wavelength on this one.

Off to Chicago.... (I love free wifi at airports...)

I like the black too! I think what I liked more about the second suit was that it seemed to fit better, but that might be because, as you say, the photos of the first suit were lousy

Anyhow, good luck on the interview! Can't wait to hear how it goes.
