Interview Outfit.. for tomorrow!

Hi Ladies,

Here are a few of options for my interview tomorrow. Would really appreciate your help.

I am aiming at a little more conservative and classic but I don't want to dress completely different to how I normally do as that just doesn't feel like the right thing to do.

Keep in mind it is still warm here, so my options would be much better if it were cold.

#1 Metalicus drape dress, block heel sandals and white cropped jacket.
(I could wear the dress on it's own with a nice necklace??)

#2 Black Slouch pants, with black draped top and white jacket

#3 Black Slouch Pants with white draped top and white jacket

#4 Black Slouch pants with white silk blouse and white jacket - this is a recent WIW and I would unroll the pants and wear my block heels.

My personal dress code for interviews is to always wear a blazer / jacket. This work place is very casual but I still think I should wear one. I do have a soft navy blazer but due to my weight loss it's looking just a bit too oversized to be 'smart' enough.

Please note everything needs a good press and has been put on rather haphazardly for the photos. I would take more care tomorrow.

It's Sunday afternoon here and my interview is at 1.00 p.m. tomorrow. Need to be organised before I head for bed tonight.

Would appreciate your opinions.

Well I have to say all look really stunning and polished on you. You can't go wrong.

#4 looks the most casual to me because of the sandals, with #1 as also slightly casual because of the bare legs. Both are probably just fine for this interview, and choosing probably has more to do with how more formal vs. more casual clothes support you yourself psychologically during the process. Does more casual make you feel more relaxed? Does more formal make you feel more confident?

Does the white shirt in #3 behave well for you or shift around while being worn? I only ask because when I wear very open necklines with drape occasionally they might shift to show a bra strap or cleavage or the camisole if I take off a jacket. Not a big deal, but maybe not something you want to potentially have to adjust before or during an interview. It's a great outfit.

2 is my favorite followed by 4 with the black shoes. The low draped neckline in 3 wouldn't be my pick for an interview because of the possiblility of malfunctions. I like 1 but there's something nice about the pants and the more covered look overall for some reason.

You look great in them all. I think #1 is perfect, both dressy and not overdone at the same time.
I think, due to the heat, sandals are fine for an interview (outside of a law firm and other dressier places!) Even during my brief stint in marketing, sandals were fine as long as feet were well groomed and the sandals themselves were not scruffy.

To my eye the sandals are dressy and sleek, so yes, but I haven't worked in an office for a long time so others might have more wisdom.

I like #1. It is business-like but not a hot outfit, so I think you would be comfortable. But if you feel bare legs are too casual, my vote would be to go for a mix of 3 and 4. If you take the top from #4 and put it in outfit #3, it would be an interview-appropriate outfit for almost any place or any field. (The top in #3 looks casual and as others have mentioned, a potential for wardrobe malfunction.)

The sandals in 4 look great but evening-like with the black and white tuxedo vibe of the outfit. Whereas the block heel sandals worn elsewhere do have some visible toes but the greater foot coverage looks more business like to me. While still being modern.

Rolling the pants is a bit more casual, I prefer them unrolled for the interview. For those who don't get rolling and how it's a modern thing, they might look sloppy. Kind of like the semi-tuck is not understood by all, and it looks sloppy to them.

They all look good but I like four the best. You look the happiest in it, too. I like the blue sandals and the blue earrings. I think it's just dressy enough for a casual workplace.

I like them all as outfits but would avoid top 3 for an interview. I agree unrolled trousers too. I think 1 and 2 are perfect as they are, and would probably go with one of them.

All of them look great on you, and could work well, but my fav is 2. You could switch shoes if you wanted, and it would still be my fav.

Any of these would make fab interview outfits: Sleek, polished, and with lots of character. They're all very you! Like Laura, my favourite is #2, followed by #1. To me, the column of black projects confidence, though I do also like #4. I think the blue sandals you show in #4 would be fine if bookended with the blue earrings or a necklace. In fact I might like them better with the dress. I agree with you on wearing a jacket for an interview. It just says "I know enough to give this interview the importance it deserves" -- even if you remove it while you are there. Good luck!

You could successfully wear any of these outfits Deborah, though #4 is my personal favourite. I think the blue sandals are dressy enough to leave in the mix but would leave the rolled hem out. However you choose to present, I'm sure you will look great and I wish you all the best for the interview.

I love #1 and then #2. 3 *looks* a little bit fussy although it might not feel so. I like #4 too but not more than 1/2 There you go .. enough confusion already?

I would go for number two. In my eyes, smart but with the trousers not as classic as the dress in the first photo.

Love 1 and 2 best. There's something about the top under the blazer in #3 that gets a bit sloppy. 4 is nice but not so much a business look. Good luck!

One and two are my favorites...I would just let the weather forecast decide which one I chose...Certainly, the white jacket in both adds a level of appreciation and respect for the interview...Both look great on you...Best to you as you approach this new chapter...

They all look great and quintessential Deborah but for the interview I prefer the first two. I think open sandals are not appropriate for the interview even in the casual environment.

Lovely outfits, they are all very you, and you could wear them for other occasions two. I prefer the first two, they look more professional because of the black column of color and more closed shoes.

You look beautiful in all of these Deborah! For an interview, regardless of how casual the environment may be, I'd go with #1first, then#2. The others read a little too unstructured and casual to me.

I like 3 and 2 best but don't think you can go wrong with any of these. So many people where I live think of any dress or skirt as dressy even if denim and worn with bare legs and Birkies. If this is the case where you are, #1 might look too dressy for this interview. I love that white jacket. It looks just the right length and style to wear with pants or dresses...the holy grail of jackets.
