I just did not know it was going to be today. I am excited to become a veteran. I remember the anticipation being able to create my first post. I remember that it was a copy of Janet's pinterest inspired outfit. Just reflecting back over the course of this year I realize I've learned SO much by being a part of this community:

  • I've learned to mix styles -- I'm still working on my pattern mixing;
  • I came to the forum with a good handle on color but I've learned to scrunch sleeves, pop collars, and make adjustments to how I wear a piece that truly reflects my style;
  • I developed my own style descriptor, which has helped me refine my style perspective immeasurably;
  • I've learned to play with fit, perfect fit vs. relaxed fit and when a little slouch might enhance and outfit
  • I've overcome my fear of patterns and really learned how to use them
  • I've learned to make capsules for a variety of purposes, trips, daily life, work etc.
  • I've learned to harmonize my super girly side with my androgynous side and manage not to look like I got dressed in the dark
  • I've learned to think about the elements of an outfit and make them work for me.
  • I've learned to explore the outer boundaries of my comfort zone (figure-flattery) and been OK with letting some rules go.
I still have my days where I stare in to the bounty of my closet and boldly claim that I have "nothing to wear", but I am so glad I have a virtual rolodex of inspiration, previous outfits, and advice. Thank you YLF!

Here are some of my favorites from the past year.
