How to use Photobucket?

I finally borrowed a digital camera, took some photos of my leggings outfit and read the thread on photobucket: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....?replies=4
I accidently put an old picture on my Photobucket account that was already on the computer but can't figure out how to upload the pictures that I just took. Can I do that directly to Photobucket, then edit them? Or do I have to upload to another site and transfer them? Any help is appreciated.

Joy, you first need to transfer the pictures from the camera to your computer. Do you think you can get someone to help you with it? It's hard to give directions on that process because it depends on the camera and what is installed on your computer. Once they are on your computer, you can log into Photobucket and use their tool to upload the pictures.

I would love to see your leggings outfit!

Thank you for your replies. No one home but me so no help to upload to the computer. I think I plugged it in correctly but need to find a file and it looks like it requires a password so will have to wait until DH gets back from a business trip. Bummer. After seeing how great San looks I feel I really need Angie's and the forum's help to get sorted.

Hi Joy, thanks for the nice compliment. It was scary putting myself out there in pictures but so sweet to hear nice compliments.
Do you have a "My Pictures" file in Windows? Usually I download the pictures off of my camera into the My Pictures file. I take the card out of the camera and put it into a card reader. I have one I use that is external because the receptacles for a card in my laptop do not fit the card I have in my camera. Once I have my card in the reader, prompts come up and I just click yes or Ok. The pictures go to the My Pictures file.
I opened a free acct in Photobucket. Once you log in you will see a box that says "Choose files". Click on it and another screen with all of your pictures comes up so that you can click on the one you want to go into photobucket. It starts the download and lets you know when it is complete.
Now to get the picture posted here, put the curser over the picture in photobucket and a drop down will show up. Click on "Direct link", then move the curser to the right where it has been highlighted and right click for a drop down menu, then hit copy. Go back to YLF and paste it.
I hope this helps and works for you.

Well done, San. Thanks for that tutorial.

San, thanks!
I tried to follow everything and even managed a post on the leggings thread, but I couldn't find a "direct link" bar under pictures. The only thing was to add a caption. Also, the link is giving more info than I'd like published. How can I avoid that? Any help is much appreciated. I'm hopeless at these things and it doesn't help that I don't know the technical terms.

Here is the link I almost accidently managed to post:
http://picasaweb.google.com/jo.....4084278866

The photos aren't the best and don't show beads, etc.

Comments and suggestions are welcome on this look for me. I'm not sure if it works. When I wore the outfit with the print dress to a meeting, everyone noticed the look. There were compliments and at least one who said I reminded her of the little girls wearing bicycle shorts under their skirts. She said more that definitely wasn't a compliment and that someone my age should know better than to dress like this. So be honest. I thought I was pulling it off but it needs more work and polish. Would the leggings be better if worn longer or full length? Is the crazy print too much for me? I liked that it seems to create curves were they don't exist.
Both dresses are thrifted (as are the nude shoes) so I'm not out much expense if they aren't working.

I'm going to give you your own thread!!!

Joy, I totally disagree with this person who said that you should not be wearing leggings. You look amazing in that outfit. Please do not let this person cause you to doubt your choice to wear it. Listen to the ones who say you look fantastic! You remind me of Angie when her and I went shopping and she was wearing that killer designer dress that had black swirls with her leggings. Knockout! You are elegant like Angie.
I love your hair too. If I could I would wear my hair just like yours.

Oh no, Joy! I just read the rest of your comment. I'm sorry someone made you feel blue. That's a real shame. I hope we have convinced you otherwise :0)

Wow, I could not possibly disagree more with the person who made those comments. I'm shocked that anyone would even speak like that to you?! Even if the person was an authority figure and you were breaking some kind of dress code (which it doesn't sound like you were), there are so many more tactful ways to bring it up. I'm regularly shocked by the things people think they have a right and reason to say. Maybe it's because you're older and wiser than me, but I would find it hard to stay calm in that situation. I mean, I just can't imagine making such rude remarks about another person's clothes, even though probably 60% of the people I see on a regular basis look less than stellar.

I think someone else mentioned receiving similar comments. Christie perhaps? I wonder if leggings just shouldn't be worn to work :( I mean, *I* have absolutely no problem and think they can be a fabulous, elegant, and sophisticated look...but unfortunately conservative style seems to rule the office world. Not necessarily formal, but definitely far from fashion forward. I'm SO glad I chose a field where creativity and personality are embraced.

UGH, Always someone with thier ugly face on :(
Ignore such ugly comments, usually driven by jealousy and inability to pull your look together.:)
You look great....and EVERYONE here thinks so!!!:)

yooohooo! Do you feel any better, Joy? Hope so!

I do feel so much better! Thank you for your overwhelming support that leaves me with no doubts. This woman may not have wanted me to teach in leggings. I don't see anything wrong with doing so because the outfit is fairly dressy. She must have been tired from travel and doing workshops for weeks, so I'm not paying attention to her words anymore.

Good for you, Joy. Follow your instincts on this one. You know your professional wardrobe boundaries better than us. I leave your fabulous style in your capable hands.
