I am almost over hard edge. My biker jackets, leather jackets and denim jackets have been part of my style since the '80s and that will never change. But I am very much in the mood for a softer look too, and incorporating that into my still very "buttoned-up" and strict style.

- Vintage florals are ticking my fancy. I am besotted with floral blazers. I want them all.

- I am falling in love with peach all over again (I used to wear it a lot in the '80s too).

- I love the idea of tomato red matched with blush pink. I hope to wear the combination if I can get the blush to work.

Is any one feeling a recent style preference change, however small?

Oooh! I like the sound of this, Angie. You must absolutely glow in peach with your complexion.

After I get done basking in the glow of my newfound color blocking ability, I am going to try to find a peplum top, and I'm thinking of pairing it with floral print pants.

I really want to wear both bold brights - my signature colours - AND mid tones with brights or white.

I'm going to try on a pastel sweater at Mexx tomorrow, have been browsing pastel everything for the last few weeks, I've been into soft silk blouses for more than a year now and want more (bright colours pastels, prints, love them all), I love the soft fabric blazers you featured on the blog... The biggest change is that I'm really drawn to non-abstract floral prints lately, I'm still a little surprised by that.

Color - mid tones and brights! I'm more of a neutrals gal, but I find myself gravitating toward tomato red, orange, and some pinks these days. I'm loving the floral jacket trend right now, just haven't found the right one yet. And more shoes that make a statement!

I've recently started to lean towards more feminine looks. I used to be all over tomboy and menswear, and I still like it (and frankly, boyish shoes are better for MOTG), but right now I'm full steam ahead for feminine A-line skirts and dainty shoes. This is a surprise! I never thought I'd be into that.

Denise's tonal dressing links have inspired me to try my blush pink Muubaa jacket with red somehow.

I am feeling a bit transitional somehow, but haven't yet figured out what the transition is.

Hmmm, yes actually. I am surprising myself by wanting a navy and white gingham checked buttton front shirt. It's been years and years since I've worn woven shirts and not too long ago I would've voted Nay on anything vaguely reminiscent of dish towels, table cloths or kitchen curtains. But after seeing them around for a season or two. I *want* one. Badly. They seem so fresh to me all of the sudden. I'm not sure if this is temporary insanity or a style preference change. We shall see!

Angie, you must look stunning in any shade that ever graced the cheek of a peach! I can't wait to see how you style vintage florals. Tomato red and blush have a 1950's connotation to me; I'm not sure why, but the pair will be perfect for your complexion!!

I ADORE this season's florals, Angie. (This is not new for me though - these have always been my favorite patterns.)

A couple of new things for me are my recent obsession with blazers/jackets. I think this has a lot to do with finally figuring out how to wear them while remaining true to my style. I'm also recently loving the neutral (for me) combo of dark blue and black.

Just when I feel like I've hit my stride with winter style, it's almost time to shift gears. I am waiting until I take a good look at my warmer-weather clothing to do any further shopping. I don't know how this is going to go! I could use a spring/summer wardrobe epiphany. I feel like I need to try something new, I just don't know what! Suggestions are welcome.

I'm coming to grips with the fact that I shouldn't wear just any old color that tickles my fancy...some are simply better than others on me.

I've also decided that I don't really like wearing skinny pants. I'd rather wear wide legged trousers.

A floral suit would be fantastic.

In the 80s I had a mint green floral patterned suit from Marimekko. It was made of cotton with a sort of sateen sheen to it. Jacket and box pleat drop waist skirt. Typically I broke up the pieces and wore them separately, but for one memorable daytime wedding I wore the whole shebang, plus a pale yellow hat. (Yes, yellow. On me! Soft buttery yellow, though...and I was a lot younger then and could get away with some things I can't manage now.)

I will see if I can dig up a picture somewhere.

I *think* i'm starting to get over cutesy. I still like it but i have to be in the mood and lately when i've put together a few outfits they felt a little too precious, even with combat boots. We shall see.

There are many things 80's that I like in the more modern rendition. And I still ike a bit of early faded jeans and simple white tees with modern updates (better jewelry, better shoes, bag, hair, etc.).

after living in a casual town where gear and bohemian are pretty much the only looks to be found I have discovered I am perfectly comfortable being my classic self. Which is hilarious that I am coming back to so many looks I wore in high school... Maybe it is the age and repeat cycle but I am asking my mom "do you still have that black silk shirt? Do you still have those cobalt suede ballet flats?" I guess I didn't fit in stylewise then either!

Well, I'm not usually hot for prints, but the new photographic/lifelike prints have me very excited! Printed pants, too, though they don't like me back.

I'm embracing my "romantic" side, in a confident, modern sort of way. Neutrals that flow and florals that have structure or are balanced with other, classic items. I like stripes, too! I'm dying to find a pair of Hepburn like widish-leg trousers -- deepest navy or charcoal, to wear with a crisp white shirt, pearls (I've got them already) and one of my DH's ties tied haphazardly around my waist. I'm also wanting to make some evening skirts for performances next year --- I'd like one long and one tea length made on the same pattern -- a sort of circa 1915 wrap skirt with draped, tulip shaped front (very Downton Abbey). I'd like one to be deep red textured satin or lightweight velvet and I plan to style it with a simple turtleneck or shirt and a statement necklace. That last touch was inspired by one of Angie's WIW from last Spring. Right now, though, I have to make dinner and wear my apron (which is neutral)!

All this talk about floral blazers and peach is making me mourn my favorite blazers of all time. I had a beautiful soft floral, sort of a watercolor type, linen jacket in soft pinks creamy yellow, pale pale green and cream.that I LOVED and also a classic longer (perfect for tall me) tailored jacket in a blush color that I gave away a few years ago. I have always regretted putting them in the goodwill bag. If I could buy them all over again, I would. I haven't fallen for any florals recently, but could easily find a soft spot if the right one presented itself. I can see the appeal of the soft romantic styles. A nice change, especially thinking to Spring and Summer.

Can't wait to see you sporting some of these pretty pieces, Angie. You will wear them like no other.

One of my favorite blazers in the late 80's was peach. Might be one of the only peach items I have owned and it really was a flattering shade - go for it!

My mini epiphany is tanks - they often seem too low cut for me so I have taken to wearing them backwards and it works very well. I bought striped tank at the Gap yesterday and even though I went with my comfort zone black and white, the idea of stripes is mind blowing. Not sure i love it on after 8 hrs of wear today but we will see.

The other thing I realized is I like to put prints in accessories and maybe that's really a good place for them in my closet. I want floral print shoes and maybe a bag.

I am anticipating seeing your floral creations, Angie! You already have an exquisite feminine side to your style (optimistic, bright colours, perfectly tailored items, midis) that I won't cry if you de-stress the hard edge and/or punk touches in your aesthetic in the future. I'm a romantic at heart, so this is exciting to watch!
