The weather finally gets cooler today so I tried on my Grey cords in a couple of ways.

1. With cropped cardi and cami:

Being a cord fan...my vote may be worth less than someone from the anti-cord brigade. But I like the whole look. Very casual and comfy and cozy looking. I like that you paired them with Converse, and I especially like it with the anorack and long cardigan.

Well Julia, that’s twice in one day that the sky has fallen down (the first was in my blog post this morning re T-shirts).

You score a 10 for outfits #2 and #3! KILLER casual look. The anorak sends me into orbit and so do the grey converse! They mask the effect of the waled effect of the corduroy completely. You look feminine and beautiful. The grey cords look fabulous with how you’ve paired these ensembles. You are SOOOO stylish! I love your hair and dress sense. Once again, an extremely clever little sausage

p.s. can anyone help me find a pair of grey Chucks in a ladies size US 6? I REALLY want a pair and they are sold out everywhere (sad face).

Julia, I love all your outfits! I also have a pair of grey cords and now I'm going to try them with the grey chucks and my new anorak! Thanks for the idea!

Angie, I bought mine from Nordstrom site and they seem to have size 6 - but it's darker "charcoal" color.

Thanks for the tip about the Converse too. Everyone seems to be back in stock. I’ve ordered and can’t wait to see them on my doorstep. I’m sporting them the instant I receive them. I’m always over the moon with a new pair of Chucks – this is no. 5. But I'm not counting. WOOOOHOOOO!

Angie I'm so glad that you approved. You are totally right that Grey cords tend to look rough and masculine. I couldn't make it work with denim jackets like a pair of cream cords, also it seems longer tops work better, I think it's because they cover up the pants more than shorter tops so it tones down the roughness of the cords.

like angie, i'm also looking for grey or charcoal chucks. the size 6 i purchased from zappos was still too big (i wear 6.5). any chance there is a womens 5.5/mens 3.5 available? i've scoured around and haven't had much luck

I'm very late to respond Julia, but I LOVE the cords on you!!! My favourite is outfit 3, with the long cardi (would you mind telling us where you got that?). The colour is beautiful and it goes perfectly with the trousers and the Converse.
I just love the whole look!

And you've convinced me to go out and buy grey Converse myself;-)
A few months ago I didn't like the grey ones at all. Part of the problem was, that over here, all shops only seemed to carry grey ones, not another colour in sight. And they looked boring to me, shelves and shelves of the same thing... But now that I've seen them featured on the forum a number of times, I've changed my mind: they can look fun and stylish with all sorts of trousers.

Do you have the charcoal ones or the lighter colour?

I got the long cardi from TJMaxx last year. It's Michael Kors. I'm sure there are a lot of similar ones this year since boyfriend cardi is so popular now. Good luck!
