I mentioned in a previous thread that I missed my regular hair appointment and couldn't get in again for another FOUR weeks and so I have been wearing hats everyday! But, I'm getting sick of my hats and so today, I decided to let my hair do "its thing" which is semi-curly, wavey, frizzy - and I was struck as to how it kind of camoflauged my gray roots! I didn't have any hair product to tame the frizz or really style my hair - but thought I'd post a pic and see if you guys think I should (at least sometimes!) let my hair go curly? Curly - Yay. No way, your hair looks like a Hot Mess - Nay. (Also, this necklace is what I got from my Secret Elf - Bella!)

I actually like it more like this. I did something similar last year and will never go back to straightening it again.

Why is it women with curly hair always want to straighten it and women with straight hair always want to have curls or waves? Maybe grass is always greener...
I really like it like this, Marley and with the bonus of camouflaging the grey - double winner!

I LOVE your hair curly! It looks wonderful. You know, weirdly in the first photo you look a lot like my girlhood friend who had strawberry blond curly hair and blue eyes. I remember you saying once that people insist to you sometimes that you are someone famous. I so believe it. You really have a movie star look. I don't know why, but there it is. Maybe you should consider a second career.

I love the waves--not frizzy at all! Soft and textured-looking. This is definitely a style you should incorporate into your repertoire and I bet you'll have fun doing so!

First off, holy beautiful blue eyes!

Second, being a curly haired girl myself i will always give a big YES to working with your natural curls than trying to straighten or what have you. And one of those perks is yes -- we can go longer between hair color appt's because it takes much longer for people to be able to "see" it's grown out. Kind of my favorite!

But looking at your pic, pic #2 in particular I say go for it! It looks great on you. Maybe get a little gel or mousse (I currently use John Frieda's Frizz-ease, cheap and works great. For professional products i hear Redkin also makes something good, haven't tried yet) to tame those frizzies and your good to go!

I actually prefer your natural texture...love the softness it adds. And yes, as another wavy + greying there's a lot to be said for the ability to hide roots a bit longer!

You really have so little frizz as-is that it wouldn't take much to really push your curls into a ton of different looks if you so desire.

An easy trick when you don't have styling products is to just use a bit of conditioner on clean wet hair (amount depends on how fine/coarse your hair is). You won't get strong hold or "piecey-ness," but it keeps the frizz at bay.

Another trick is to accidentally use your cream face cleanser in your hair, but I don't recommend that one as much.

I've moved from no-product to a one-and-done product person but it's been eye-opening to see how different products yield such variation. [Yes, I'm a late bloomer, ha.] Maybe you could take your savings from your missed appointment and hit the product aisle....

this is fabulous. as a straight girl whose hair won't hold a curl no matter what i do i am envious of your ability to do both. i think this is a much better and healthier everyday look for you and you can straighten for special occasions!

I really like it natural like this too but I also like it straightened. I think you can definitely wear it both ways. I'm a huge fan of your hair color with your gorgeous blue eyes. I think the texture hides the grey. I wish my grey would blend in instead of "boing" stick straight up!

It may be the only thing that's easier about having curly hair -- the natural camouflage it provides for those gray roots...

After all these months, it never actually occurred to me that your hair was gray xD
As a wavy gal with bangs, sometimes I blow dry my bangs with a round brush. I voted yay, beautiful curls!
