Girls night, denim on denim faux pas and where did I put that belt?

The planets all aligned long enough on Friday night for me to meet my closest girl friends at a local bar (I know two night out in one week!!!). I really wanted to recreate Angie's outfit using my denim tunic instead of the white shirt but I was unable to find my belt

The belt finally reappeared today, it was being used as a dog lead for Guy the stuffed toy labrador pup (aaargh).

I think overall my interpretation deserves a C+/B- but would have looked infinitely better with the belt. It is also the first time I have worn denim on denim in over 10 years.

Do you agree with my assessment? All opinions welcome.

That looks wonderful on you!! I love it. You have done a superb job of mixing here. I am into mixing at the moment too.
I love the lace mixed with the more relaxed denim, very nice. The booties are great too. Which ones are those? Oh and I must say the pearls strands of differing size pearls is gorgeous inside the neckline of the relaxed look of the denim shirt.
Your girls got your belt for the toy puppie??? I wonder who gave them that idea??? So cute!!! Have fun with your adorable little girls.

Angie, it is a black denim skirt, I felt fab about the double denim but would not be able to wear the shirt with black jeans, which makes little sense.

Wow I really like that outfit too!!

and my cherubs often run off with my belts/shoes/hairbands etc to use on their puppies and babies too - drives me batty LOL

You look beautiful! I love the denim on denim- I want to try that this season somehow.
I would give you an A and I am not an easy grader!
The pearls look so great with that denim shirt, I am going to be on the lookout for one of those. I hope we can meet in Edinburgh this summer. Last summer I got my Faith boots at a charity shop on Nickerson St. Do you know where that is? I am not sure I am spelling it correctly.

Jean, I know of Nicolson Street by the Festival Theatre but there may well be a Nickerson Street!
