Since I never really outgrew wearing girly dresses with thick black tights and clunky black shoes, I had to try a 90s-inspired dress outfit for this challenge and had lots of fun picking it out.

This dress was the closest I had to the babydoll silhouette and the feminine, small-scale pattern seemed to fit, even though a floral would probably be even better. Besides the black tights, accessories were black lace-up boots (the ones in Finds are close, but not exact), a choker, and some little floral studs that I've actually had since the 90s (#3). And dark lip gloss, of course. Although it didn't come out that dark in the pictures.

#4 is with a black nylon messenger bag. For added authenticity, imagine I have a journal in there that I can take out in coffee shops and pretend to write in.

#5-6 is the version I actually wore to work. No choker, a cardigan because it was cold, and the lace-up boots switched out for something more polished. Since the shoes are kind of a take on chunky mary janes, I figure they still count as on-theme.
