Equestrian Boots... Should they stay in the barn?

Hi,

I saw these boots Steve Madden boots at the Rack on sale and bought them in black and brown.
My question, do you think I will get enough bang for my buck with them? I can do the horsy look easily, Burberry quilted jacket etc. Maybe not a YLF thing, but it will always be a look of mine.
But how do you think they translate with these outfits?

I like the boots! I don't have an "equestrian" style personally, but I bought black boots similar to those (Aerosole Ride Lines 'riding' boots). I liked them so much I quit wearing my dressier boots. I wear my riding boots with dresses, skirts, and jeans. So I think these boots can expand beyond the obvious style, if that makes sense.

Thanks for you feedback.

My concern is the "lace up" area at the ankle .
The picture may not be clear.

They were inexpensive, under $50 each, but if they are not going to go with me towards the more polished look I am trying to hit I should close the barn door on them.

They will be a staple for me.. daytime “dress” casual boots.
I can fall into the horsy, L.L. Bean barn coat look very easily. No offence to anyone. I have 4 Barn coats and love L.L. Bean.
A friend of mine said she would inflict harm(ha) if I dare by another Barn coat. She is a YLF member too.
My return to her is about my reaction if she dares to buy another jean jacket, in any other possible material that exists

I like things in their original design/format. I almost bought paddock boots(riding boots).The lace up is for tightening your ankle area(great for someone like me who has had damage to that area while riding).
But those boots ..aren't made for walking (Nancy Sinatra!) Love that song.

I think you look great in all these outfits! I personally don't think they look too equestrian at all.

I refrain from wearing my Irish hacking jacket with my riding boots, although I would love to! Your second outfit (with the long cardigan) is how I usually wear my boots and I think it looks perfectly fine.

I just read your (giddy yap) too funny..

I have such a hard time finding a boot that is tall enough for me.
If they go lower than a few inches below my knee they look weird with my curves.
I believe I loose the best proportions for my shape. The longer the boot the longer the look of the leg.
These boots have that extra tab of leather at the top
which give it the appearance of going up to the knee (that dressage thing)which is why I bought them.

Do you have the same problem with finding tall boots?
Or has anyone else found a solution to finding a taller boot other than the "pirate" boots that I have seen that fold over at the knee? Not a good look for me.
Maybe this question should be another post or has it been asked before?
