Items up for review: baggy boyfriend distressed jeans, hankerchief hem tee and olive military jacket.
The first two came cheap from one of my shopping haunts that is closing its doors. Boo!
The jacket I got today at Nordstrom Rack.
I'm wearing new shades and also to hide from the disapproving glares that Angie might give me. : )
Last photo is my silly poses while awaiting your responses. LOL!

I think the jeans are pretty cute--are you worried they are too trendy or youthful for you? From what I can see of the top, it looks good too. The jacket is interesting....I love olive green, and it fits you well, but there is something slightly off about the style of it...maybe that it's trying to be double-breasted like a classic trench, but then it has that prominent zipper right up the middle...? But I am sort of nitpicking, because you asked for an assessment. If I saw you walking down the street in that last outfit, with the jacket, jeans, and boots, I would think you looked great.

See-- i like the bf jeans, but not with those shoes. I think they need feminine shoes, like heels or ballet flats not something chunky. Definitely not something with an ankle strap to cut your leg line AGAIN. The second one I love, except for the shoes, idk, probably just me on crack. The jacket is gorgeous. Is it a knit? It fits beautifully and the outfit is fab and I am sure in your hot climate you can actually get quite a bit of use out of it.

I like those jeans on you, but I also vote perhaps for a less chunky shoe?

The other outfits are darling. I love that hem on you, love the pearls and patent leather, and the jacket looks perfect for Fall.

AJ! What a treat! I like #1 it appeals to my boho side and I love the chunky sandals. You are so slim and cute that you can totally pull it off. #2 is a mix of edgy and feminine. I love that hankerchief hem. #3-4 is a great military look--you look sassy and hip. Great outfits, AJ.

Jonesy - Well I started the year determined that I would not spend a dime on distressed clothing because why would anyone want to look like they were down on their luck? I was a bit curious about the baggy boyfriend jeans however and when my now defunct store offered these distressed boyfriend jeans for $9, I had to bite even though I knew they were final sale. I have to say that I luv them. My kids think they're funny looking. As for the jacket, the double breasted-zippered-trench mutation is what appealed to me! As soon as I saw that it had princess seams, it had to be mine! : )

Alaska and Kelly girls - Chunky shoe gals unite! These Dansko sandals are so comfy and I feel the bit of height that I get from the clog type heels, make up for the ankle strap and cuffed jeans interrupting the leg line.

Jenava - When my eldest saw the pearls with the black top, he grimaced and said, "It looks like you are going to a funeral." Hee-hee!

The jacket, for anyone who is interested, is by Ambition and the Rack had it in navy, grey and this olive color for $30.

The hits just keep on coming with you! I really like your sense of style. Very effortless! I like all of these outfits. I also would probably go for a less chunky style shoe with the boyfriend jeans - but I think that with your body-type that you can pull of the chunky style of shoe, no problem! Love the military jacket!

Love all of them! BF jeans are an acquired taste; you either love 'em or hate 'em. I am absolutely in the love camp, and you wear them very well.

The abrupt shift to the uber-elegant look in #2 is awesome, and I am crazy, CRAZY about that coat! You look fantastic in it, and the detailing is one-of-a-kind.

And I have to respectfully disagree with your son's (funny!) comment about the black top, esp as I am a fan of asymmetrical stuff.

#2-4 are most definitely killer! I love the jacket with your jeans and cognac boots...LOVE.

Reneeb - I bought these boots at NAS and so far they've only come out for photos. It's still too warm to wear them so can't really say much about the comfort level yet.

To all the bf jeans naysayers - That's OK, the luv I have for these jeans is above any public reproach. : )
