Dress for August wedding - decision made. Almost.

I have decided to go with dress #2 the Adrianna Papell. It is lined, needs no alterations and is practical to boot. While pondering I decided to try it in a size 10 because the 12 had plenty of room. I also thought it would be slightly more bodycon to counter the modest neckline.

Collage 1 is the original size 12
Collage 2 is the new size 10
Pic 3 is included just because the flowers are pretty. They are arrangements left over from the bridal shower for the for this wedding.

I *think* the 10 works, do you?

I like the size 10 slightly more. The peonies are so pretty.

They look very similar; perhaps the 12 lays a tiny bit better. I like the style and color on you.

The 10! It's giving you a bit more waist definition without reading body con at all.

Yay! I was in favour of this dress from the start, as you know. And it will probably serve you elsewhere.

As to the size, I'm not 100% sure. I like the 10 better from the front but I am not sure I like it as well from the side view. I would do as Ceit says and go with the one that feels best.

I think I like the 10 best overall, but they are very close and both look terrific on you. I like 10 best from the back; from the front it's hard to tell a difference. From the side, I can tell the 10 hugs your body more, and to me that's a bonus. But like others, I say go with what's comfortable, because the 12 does not look too big and the 10 does not look too small.

You look more slender in the size 10, without the dress looking at all too tight.

That was my vote too! I like the 12 better, although you could do the 10 if it felt more comfortable.

I would go with the the larger ones(if shoulders weren't big and fit well) and you can always take in a just a bit above the waist, if you want.

i like the 10 marginally better, but its hard to tell from the pictures. if you think the 10 fits better, so with the 10, if your more comfortable in the 12, keep that one……sorry, not much help!

Wow, close call on the sizing (love the dress). I usually choose the size up when I'm in doubt but I can't see well enough from the pics to know if there is any extra material in the 12. From the side, I prefer the 12 but either one is going to be great.

Amazing dress on you, Pil, you're going to look terrific. I like the 10 best, too. I find a little more "fit" works well in a print, while I sometimes size up a bit for a solid.

I vote 10 also. I think the slightly more fitted silhouette makes it look more dressy. Both are good though!

Thanks everyone, sorry to have posted and promptly drop off the forum. We decided to work on purging a room we use for storage - no basement so the extra dander has to go somewhere. I've been weeding through my younger son's collection of Emo and punk cd's - Dirty Projectors anyone? Thursday, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Pixies, Operation Ivy, Dead Kennedys, Straylight Run, Senses Fail, My Chemical Romance, Tegan and Sara, Elliott Smith. I've packed up the cases that actually have a cd and added a few surprises for him - the Lion King soundtrack, Dwight Yoakum and Zamphir

I was SO excited and hoped to be posting the perfect dress today, but alas - it was not to be. I found a stretch, knot front Ted Baker in the same print as the Ted Baker midi in my original thread (for those of you who may remember). But, it didn't work out. The knot sits too low on me and the pink lining, as pretty as it is, hangs out the neckline.

So the Adrianna Papell (size 10) will work just fine unless something else jumps out at me. My husband - sweet guy that he is - said there wasn't any reason not to get *two* dresses : )

Why yes I do! It was delivered today and it was all I could do not to wait at the front door for the UPS man

Glad you're keeping the 10. I like it much better in the upper back. I'm assuming it is comfortable when you hug yourself, hold your arms out to drive, etc.? And that the 10 doesn't ride up too much when you sit down?

I'm looking forward to seeing the Ted Baker dress, too. . .
