More dresses to consider for attendance at an upcoming Labor Day weekend wedding and I would love your opinions! Wordy post - sorry. The weather here can be all over the place this time of year. The ceremony is mid morning so the church shouldn't be at peak heat if it isn't air conditioned.

#1 - 3 Ted Baker from Nordstrom. When I ordered this I was skeptical about even fitting into it. It is a bit snug at the waist. It probably needs different funkier shoes, but I would like to wear this gold pair.

#4 - 6 Adrianna Papell in navy from Nordstrom. Same style suggested by Angie in my other thread but a different print. So nice that it is lined.

#7 - 9 Lauren by Ralph Lauren in navy. Not lined but as comfortable as pajamas. The vee in front is too deep so I would need to have the seam at the shoulders taken up.

#10 - 12 Another Ralph Lauren in navy. The drawback to this is that I already have a black dress that could fill this hole. I found this at TJ Maxx and brought it home because I thought navy would be more appropriate for a wedding. Another drawback is it being sleeveless and the possibility of needing a topper - which would clash with the ruching. Best follow Angie's advice to 'don't'

My favorites were the two dresses in the middle. I thought they were equally flattering in all the pictures. I want to like the first one but don't love the fit for some reason.

Agreed that two in middle are best. At first I liked the Ted Baker, but then I don't like the way the print is seamed in back. Looks awkward to me. The other two prints make you look svelte and well proportioned from all views. Actually, I like 7-9 a bit better. It doesn't look too deep a v to me, but then, that is an individual preference.

i really like the ted baker dress. the only thing i might change was to look for a dresser belt, but thats just a might. like it a lot as is. also like the paterned lauren dress, the fit is really flattering, and i like the sleeves.

I really like the 7-9 dress. And I love that you said it was as comfortable as pajamas (to me that means it is "the" one). It also doesn't look too deep to me, but you have to be comfortable. Have you ever used fashion tape? I've used it to keep blouses from gaping at the v when they were low like this and it has been very successful.

Wow, an abundance of riches after drought, Pil. I love all of these! I think for the reasons you've mentioned my favourite is #2 (4-6) simply because the fit is spot on, the pattern and colour work, it is sleeved, and looks versatile -- but the Lauren is equally fab on you. My only hesitation is if the neckline will bother you, why bother, you know?

Then there is the Ted Baker, which is seriously smashing and says "guest at a wedding" all over it! So pretty. My only reservation about that one is that (for myself) I might have a hard time wearing it to any other kind of event - whereas the Papell looks less memorable and more versatile.

I like the second Lauren dress also but it seems it's less useful to you than the others.

Not a lot of help but at least I have ruled one of them out?

2 and 3 are most versatile, but I agree the Ted baker one is fabulous for a wedding!

OMG, I love #1. I think it's smashing. The shoes are great with it.

I love #2 too, but feel it's more a work dress.

WOW. I LOVE the first three dresses, Pill. Those are killer.

The first dress is the most fun, on trend and happy (especially with your red specs). Looks great with the shoes, but add a gold skinny belt. Very elegant.

The third dress is the most conventionally flattering. Bombshell.

Now there is an abundance of riches to choose from. xo

I love the third one, but I hear you about the neckline issue. This is a perpetual problem for me too. Second one is nice too but it didn't jump out at me like the third one did.

Is the belt on the Ted Baker removable? I think I would prefer it without a belt or maybe with a different belt.

I think the navy dress is the same or very similar to my gold dress. I wear mine with jackets all the time (most often one of my shrunken blazers) and do not find it problematic. I do find that the neckline is too low on mine so I'd be wary of that.

They all look great! My favorite is 7-9. The fit is just perfect on you. So flattering. I love the print of the Ted Baker and the colors are gorgeous on you, but it looks to me like the top half is just a tad too long for you?

OK, sorry to muddy the water but I do like the RL dress...I would add a pashmina, a clutch and you would be ready to go...

I like them all but #1 the best. The two middle ones are very nice too, but remind me of office clothes.

I had the same problem with the Ted Baker dress - tight in the middle. Except mine was too tight and I sent it back. Like, "forget eating anything at the reception" tight
My favorite dress is the one in #7-#9, with #4-#6 coming in second.

I don't think you could go wrong with any of the first three dresses! I second the idea of a thin gold belt with #1, that dress is really gorgeous. If it were me, I'd wear either #1 or #3

Decisions, decisions! At least you have all confirmed that I am on the right track. I was surprised that I liked the Ted Baker dress on after the the top I tried didn't work. But - Angie suggested it and it is my husband's favorite! He hasn't seen dress #3 on me yet, but I was very surprised that he preferred #1 over the more body con and V neck of #4.

My heart loves the Ted Baker but my hesitation is the same as Suz's - so few occasions to wear it. The colors might be good for the holidays, but I'm not so sure about the short sleeves. Dresses 2 & 3 are definitely more all purpose. 2 is appealing because it is good to go and lined as well. I like the looks of 3 and the great price is an added bonus. Because of the construction I'm afraid the alteration to the shoulder might be rather involved. I don't fill it out enough on top for fashion tape or tacking the two pieces together. I'll check with my alterations place.

Really love the Ted Baker but am not sure about the versatility. Love both of the printed dresses. So flattering! You struck gold with this lot!

I also love #1 on you and like Angie's idea of a gold belt; I can just picture it: gorgeous! I like #3 better with your shoes than #2, for some reason. I think #3 is really beautiful on you. The alteration may be a deal-breaker, though. I would think one could take up the neckline at the shoulder without going as far as the sleeves. It's not an alteration I would relish doing myself, but there's a reason that's not my line of work.

Firecracker, it's hard to explain the construction but the top half of the dress is lined. And it is all seamed together around the armhole so I think getting to the actual shoulder seam will be tricky.

Yeah, I was kind of wondering if that might be the case, when you described how comfortable it was. It might not be that difficult, but sometimes it can be a bear to pick the stitching out of knits without putting little holes in the fabric. It's worth asking your tailor.
Would you consider wearing a cami or adding a coordinating panel at the V?

ooh, or better yet, is it available in petites anywhere?

Pil you look lovely in each dress but #2 and #3 are incredibly figure flattering. #1 is a great dress but I actually don' think it does your figure justice.

I like the third dress on you. The print is not too big (like the first dress) or too small ( like the second dress). Plus, I think the v-neck is very flattering.

I'm with Carambola on the Ted Baker dress. I like the colors and pattern, but to me it looks like the top half is a smidge too long. If you love it and that doesn't bother you and you're alright with not wearing it that often afterwards, go and get it. Otherwise I really really love #4-#6. It looks fantastic on you, like the perfect fit! And you wouldn't have to change a thing. The third dress is lovely too, but the needed alterations would be a dealbreaker for me if I had an alternative that fits out of the box, so to speak. And the Adrianna Papell doesn't read office wear to me, I think it's fantastic with the shoes. Add a great clutch, maybe a cuff for jewelry and you're ready to go.

My take: The Ted Baker is a beautiful dress but I don't think it is as flattering on you as the other selections. It is something about the fit/cut which I can't put my finger on exactly. I like the other three choices and like Suz, my favorite is the Adrianna Papell. I do agree with Angie that #3 is a dynamite fit! Since it is solid, you would have lots of versatility with it!

You have made wonderful selections for us to look it! It is win, win whatever you choose. Have a great time at the wedding! You will because you will look FAB!
