Denim/Denim, not sure it works =/

I dug up a really old denim jacket-type thing that I got years ago, but never wore...and threw this together last minute as I rushed off to work yesterday...but I am not sure it works. The short length requires a longer top underneath, but its not short enough to be considered a crop jacket (right?)
Please be honest, I'll be getting rid of this jacket if its not a good look for me...

I actually think it's really cute. But does it have cap sleeves? That's usually a hard sleeve length to pull off.

Ummm...not cap sleeves...they were pretty much the same length as the sleeves on the t-shirt that I wore underneath...the length just looks shorter in the pictures, I think.

The colors seem to work well, and the jacket's length almost works. Could you layer it with a longer length sleeve underneath or is there not enough room in the arm hole?

I think I would like to see it with a darker top instead of a light colored top. I think where the jacket stops at the high hip and the light color of the top highlights that area and throws off your proportions. Could I please see it with something darker and maybe a statement/chunky necklace or earrings?

I really like it unbuttoned Srujana. Buttoned it seems a bit cutesy or something to me, but unbuttoned it seems a lot more relaxed. Although its hard to focus away from your great hair and eyes in order to see the top hehe!!!

Shana, I haven't tried it with a skirt yet. I'm having some difficulty finding a sweet spot for top lengths on skirts. But I'll try it soon..

Susan, I probably could do a thin long-sleeved tee underneath...I'll save that idea for a cooler day. I'm loving our temps too much right now to wear long sleeves
