Yay = buy
Nay = pass

As a dress gal whose style is currently constrained by baby-nursing, I continue to be on the lookout for great dresses that open in the front. I had seen a black shirtdress like this by Chanel about a year ago and liked its crispness.

Yesterday I went to try it on to see if I liked it as much in person as I did online. I liked it well enough, but I was able to walk away from it, so that is one sign. Also now that I see the photos I look a tad matronly...? But then again it isn't styled yet. The fabric is a rayon-silk blend with a very subtle waffle weave - so it's a little bit matte, which I like. I would definitely wear it for work, so it's not a purchase for an "imaginary lifestyle."

If you vote yay, comments on how to style it in a way that is unexpected yet harmonious? I am thinking a brown cutout belt and brown tall flat boots, or silver-toned statement choker with metallic belt...

The closeup is so that you can see the color better next to my skin.

Here is an alternative that I could try instead...?

Also, 2 WIWs - comment welcome!

yesterday - Red shirt & boots for Chinese New Year on a rainy day, with vintage silk tapered trousers

today - Purple zip front dress (with pockets!), patterned hose, grey booties & grey blazer
