Literally!

I went back to the shop today and had them take pictures of every colour of the "Birdie" style which I'd previously modeled in this thread. There is one colour they do not have in stock (at all! In any frame of any kind from that company.) It is called "steel blue/dark orchid." I have to pay to have them bring them in to try--but the money can go towards my final purchase.

Ok, here's the fashion show.

1. brown/mint (the mint is more blue than green)
2. purple/sky blue (the purple is really more of a burgandy or reddish purple)
3. tortoise/violet (the violet is quite pastel, almost pink).

Do we have a winner or should we take a look at the steel blue/dark orchid pair?

Hi Alana: not knowing you well, I don't want to be too opinionated here, but i have to say my eye likes number 1 without a doubt. The redder tones in the 2nd and 3rd options don't seem to work as well with your skin tone, whereas the hint of blue in number 1 draws attention to your beautiful eye colour.

Finding glasses is so hard , I know. Such an investment we can't afford to make a mistake with.

thank you Lisap. You know, they e-mailed me the pictures and as I was downloading them and fixing them up to post, I was rather surprised by how red the last two pair looked. They didn't strike me that way IRL. But then, I can't see anything without my own glasses on--even colour, apparently.

I like #1 the best as it harmonizes with your coloring and will work over the years as your hair lightens; the other two might have worked before your hair started to go gray. I think the steel blue/dark orchid ones might be too dark for you such that you would only see glasses and not you.

Again, this is all based on my monitor whose colors may be off. . .but those glasses sure are a nice shape on you!

Yep. I like the original number 1 best. The colour is a little softer for you. They're a fantastic pair of glasses.

Donna F--thank you. Excellent point about my hair. It is not going to get any darker. (Thank goodness. I had the mousiest "dirty blond" hair--I much prefer my silver!)

I agree 1 is the best of what's here. But I'm dying to see the one that's not here. I think it might be amazing with your cool coloring.

YES, ADELFA! I am so glad someone else wants to see them. The website and reality are so different--and the person who "named" their colours was colour-blind, to put it politely. So who knows what they will look like! Cross your fingers they will be in stock and can be ordered. If so, they should be in store by Wednesday.

Of what you've shown here, I far and away prefer #1 -- gorgeous with your coloring. Would be curious to see the others you'd have to order as well, but #1 is really nice.

Hmm. I did not like #1 (thought it was too matchy-matchy with your lovely coloring). Did NOT like #2 but really liked #3. Am eager to see the specs you have on order...maybe they will be perfect! Thanks for sharing.

Alana, these are soooooo flattering on you as far as shape. Bingo!

I like number one because it harmonizes so well with your hair and coloring.

I like the second and third ones because they offer a contrast to your eyes that make them POP and look really bright. Out of those two I would choose number two because it is a cooler red shade that goes better with your cool hair and eye coloring.

I like the way #2 contrasts with your skin and hair instead of matches...but I'd like to see those blue ones too for the same reason, they may be even better.

#1 blends in too much, #3 is too red...

Okay, so I really thought I'd vote #1 because I love them in your first post, but I actually find myself liking #2 better. We hadn't seen the first pair from the side and from the front the color looks totally different. I'm not such a huge fan of the brown on you, looking at it from the side where you can see the true color better. I much prefer the burgundy. Those bring out your eye color too, in comparison to the first pair.

Yes. I can be quite the spanner sometimes, Alana - and the forum knows that. I am always honest and gladly swim against the tide.

#1 is gorgeous too - just too much brown with your hair to my eye,

#2 is best because the cool red lights up your face AND the blue brings out your eyes quite magnificently.

#3 is too warm.

The steel blue pair will probably be a slam dunk too.

#2 is fantastic on you! I love how the inner blue lights up your eyes, and with your wardrobe I think the burgundy would provide a lovely "zing."

I like #1 a lot, too -- it has the same effect with your eyes on the insides....but it feels too "flat" with your hair to me and I think as you go more grey it will be worse rather than better, whereas the burgundy will look better over time.

I don't like #3. Too warm and too unidimensional.

But I have seen the blue colour that is not available and it might be wonderful also. It could read as too dark on you...but then again, it could read as a statement, if you know what I am saying.
