I've never really been fond of them. I've own one animal print blouse and I think one dress has a sort of fake animal print, but I don't think they'll ever be a major part of my wardrobe.

Although I see so many of our forum members wearing them in classy and beautiful outfits, when I look at animal prints for myself, it's hard to break the association with Peggy Bundy.

MaryK is killing me. Like she has the need to be relevant! She sets the bar (pun intended). Sylvie mentioned Peggy Bundy. I had not thought of her, but that would poison anyone's eye!

I have a leopard scarf and flats but I got rid of a leopard blouse that I felt was too loud on me. Then I had to make myself a rule: No new leopard. I still love my animal prints but I've begun to notice some REALLY tacky renditions out there. I think that's what usually happens to me right before I fall out of love with something. Oh no!

Oh my gosh, you ladies are just cracking me up! I've had animal print, in some form or other, in my wardrobe for longer than I can remember.

Claire, concerning your "no new leopard" rule.... I have two words for you: Cheetah Chic!

I don't think I'll ever fall out of love with animal prints!

Love leopard - always have, always will. Never really wore it until this go 'round though. I bought a cashmere scarf in light gray, a large rectangular one in gray/black, and some cute flats.

Oh man, Peggy Bundy! Now I *really* can't get into the animal prints!

I've always been a bit meh on them. They look really great on others, and I do have one top with a sort of cheetah print, but I hardly ever wear it. I don't really think of crocodile or snakeskin embossed stuff as an animal print, though.

There has been a major overload of animal stuff around here for a while. Many, many grown women and university students are wearing those stocking hats with animal ears or the ones that are basically toy stuffed animal heads, leopard prints in every color, horse and bird prints on everything from socks to blouses to bags, a thousand different faux fur coats and vests. Yet I never seem to see them worn in a tasteful way, so the look turned me off from the start.

No way! Animal prints are everywhere for the last seasons! I'm loving leopard and snake prints! A huge trend here in Europe!

The classic golden leopard print is horrible on me so I don't wear it, but it does have a such a glamourous/woman of the world (+/- "maneater") history that I enjoy seeing it around.

[And who's to say the "old lady" doesn't wear her leopard as an homage to her adventurous (or heartbreaker!) past?]

Over the last several years I've accumulated several animal (or abstracted-but-animal-y) prints in non-traditional colors (greens, rose, shiny grey). If I keep going I may have quite the collection by the time I hit 70....

Like most prints, I think "the animals" really create a love/hate reaction on oneself...and hey, if they're not one's thing they're not one's thing!

1) Carole Lombard (in costume)
2) Anne Bancroft (as Mrs Robinson)
3) Me and my gloves...not quite in the same category as Ms Lombard and Bancroft!

Yes, I will also forever be in love with animal prints...on accessories. I have always had something in animal print : a lucite bangle, shoes, a small bag....

I love my animal print shoes so I don't see myself tiring of it yet!

Nope - still loving it - in appropriate doses of course!
