Descriptions of your daily ensembles

Ana Recent Outfits

Hi Everyone!

Here are some photos of my recent outfits. I've really enjoyed the blogs that some people post here with their outfits, so I started one to post my daily outfits. Plus, I will probably post some of my friends' outfits on there as well (who are too shy of YLF right now, hee). It's been a bit of an adventure figuring everything out, and I'm still not where I would like to be in terms of technical knowledge, but it's fun learning new things (it keeps me sane at school). Anyway, long story short is that I apologize if the photos are weird in some way, since I'm hosting most of them on my blog. I truly have an appreciation of Greg's technical prowess in managing YLF now! :D

It's been very warm here the past few days. Today it was 89 but felt like 99 due to the humidity! :( Anyway, comments or suggestions are appreciated! What do you all think of the chambray shirt and red pencil skirt? It's my dressed up version of the "denim" shirt outfit. The skirt is wrinkly because I had been sitting in it all day, but I'm particularly curious about what the forum members think of the shirt, since I haven't seen many denim shirt outfits on here since Angie posted about it.

Wow Ana! You look soo good. Amazing. Killer. I am running out of superlatives for sure.

I think that the chambray shirt works great with the red skirt. Love your new shoes, so cool! Speaking of shoes, are the cheetah flats more comfy now? Can you wear them for couple of hours?

Congrats on starting a blog!

Yah!! Ana, I am so happy that you have started a blog to catalog your looks which are so incredible and inspiring! Love that chambray shirt - it is truly perfection on you!

Wow! Wow! Wow! You Texans keep raising the bar! Your outfits are gorgeous. I LOVE the chambray with the red skirt. You have impeccable taste and such a good eye for putting outfits together. Very nice!

You are a complete inspiration, I love the chambry shirt outfit. You look so chic and creative. I think this is my favorite post of yours since the challenge where you blew everyone away with all the vintage looks. You are getting more stylish by the minute. Your hair is such a great style for you, makes me want to cut mine although it would never work for me. Love the stripes- you are soo mod!!!

You look fantastic! I love the coral colored dress....who made that dress? Every outfit was really really really good. Very inspiring.

LOVE the name of your blog. You look amazing, as usual. I can't even pick a favorite. Absolutely gorgeous.

I also love your hair cut. One of these days I'll go that short... my hair keeps getting shorter and shorter these days! Adorable.

Ana, you're looking FABULOUS! LOVE the chambray shirt and red skirt combo, definitely a favorite. Also a 10, 10, 10 - that black outfit with the shirtdress. I love the varying textures and it flatters you perfectly.

The other outfits are great as well, but those two are by far my favorites!

Wooohooo! KILLER week and great blog, Ana! Congratulations! Every outfit is absolutely fabulous in every way! Your best accessory is your hair and eyes. I am so glad you’re blonde again :o). And I couldn't tell you which is my favourite outfit because I love them all.

I think the chambray shirt and red skirt looks wonderful. You are wearing that skirt a little longer than you usually do! On a side note, I don’t know if you’ve noticed but we share a love for strong, clean, simple, crisp lines on our own outfits. And we wear a similar colour palette – I guess because we have the same colouring. I little bit of inane information but thought I would share it anyway.

love your outfits and style. My 2 favorites are the coral dress with the denim jacket, and the black dress over the jeans-- that one rocks!

Ana, I stop short at the first outfit, squealed and then squealed again when I proceeded to your blog and saw the deconstruction on polyvore etc.

I have mentioned before and I say this again, you are SO creative. Every bit of you comes off as stylish, confident, sure and immensely knowledgeable about what works for you and perfectly. Everytime you post an outfit, it goes right into my lookbook. Such inspiration!

I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite - I was pretty much squealing all the time I was reading your blog. But 3 outfits I loved to bits are the ones with the Tory Burch jacket, chambray skirt and the LA Made tunic.

Thank you so much for your comments, everyone! I really appreciate them! :D

Shana, Kelly, Jean, Ellen, San, Rena, Grace, Taylor, Vani, and Queenie, thank you so much for your feedback on the outfits, and the chambray shirt outfit especially! I've been dying to try the denim shirt outfit ever since Angie blogged about it. You guys really make my day! :D

Tanya, thank you for sending me the cheetah print flats! I love them, and as I told you last night, I am going to take them to a cobbler and have them stretched a bit in the front.

Marianna and Jean, thanks for the compliment on my hair! It's been about a year since I cut it (it was my birthday present to myself last year), so I am going to do as Angie suggests and reevaluate it a little. I'm thinking of changing the bangs a tiny bit. Jean, I love your long red hair! I think if you wanted to cut it, you definitely could, but I also love that it's a very distinct part of your style, too. Marianna, you could definitely go shorter if you wanted! :D

Marianne, Vani and Marianna, thanks for taking a look at the blog! :D I'm excited about it, it's definitely a learning experience! Marianna, I'm so happy you like the name! I kind of agonized over it, and thought it might be kind of lame, but then I just went with it, hee. Vani, I'm so glad you like the polyvore sets! They are fun to make, and I often see photos of outfits in magazines or online and I wonder what all they are wearing, because sometimes it seems like a lot. I like Instyle when they put those outfits together and show you everything to wear, so I thought I might do that as well in my blog posts. :) They aren't the *exact* items that I am wearing (that would be really difficult to do), but it's to give the reader an idea of what I'm wearing. Vani, I'm extremely flattered you save my outfit photos! if you want to save the photos, I think you should be able to right click on them and save them the normal way, but if you ever can't for some reason, let me know. I'm not super familiar with the technical side of things yet, and I might accidentally make it so it can't be saved. :D

Grace, the dress is by J. Crew (which I see on your profile that you are a fan of too). Here is a link to the blog post that lists all the items and where they come from:

Angie, thank you so much for your input! Your comment is not inane at all. I'm kind of on the fence about the length of the red skirt. I think it's okay, but I wonder if I would feel better about it if it were shorter. I ended up shortening my denim pencil skirt because I just felt like it was too long, and now I find I get a lot more use out of it because I just feel a bit better about it. It's good to try new things though. Angie, we could definitely switch wardrobes (well, I could be happy switching wardrobes with you, I don't know if you'd be as happy since I don't have many boots, hee). I think we do share very similar tastes, which I love! :D I think we choose similar colors due to our coloring, but also because the colors I choose often reflect the strong modern lines of what I'm drawn to. I love bold bright colors, which is in line with the clean, strong styling of most items I like as well. Does that make sense? For instance, Jean chooses warm, earthy colors and that's in line with her kind of earthy, bohemian style. That's my guess, anyway. It's probably not always this way, like a person could do really bright, bold bohemian (what I kind of think of as Cathy's style), or earthy modern classic, but maybe you and I choose the colors we do in a similar fashion? :D
