Ana January Outfits
Hi All!
I tried to keep my resolution of taking photos of outfits to post them here. With the exception of a couple of days last week (my camera man had to work late), I think I did pretty well with sticking to it.

It's been warmer here lately, which is why you see all the skirts and dresses.
Comments and suggestions are appreciated! Monday 1/26 I'm especially interested in whether the Milly blouse I got works layered under a sweater. Also, you can see how faded my black jeans are in that photo. I got a pair from BR to tide me over until I can get some COH Ambers. The BR pair is at the alteration place right now, which is why I have to wear my old ones a bit longer.
Also, I'd love to know how to post an entire album of photos without everyone having access to all my other photos at the same time. I know some of you do that, and I think it's an easier way of posting a lot of photos at once.
Thank you!

Hi Ana. As always you had a marvelous week. I especially love 1/27. It seems very different for you but still retains your character, and it's kind of a switch-around of the structured-jacket-over-arty-tee look--you have the arty part on the outside, which is sweet.
As for 1/26, I think the only thing about the outfit that I would change is that I would not button it all the way from the bottom. I have a boyfriend cardi (or HAD at least...I seem to have lost it :()...and I found it bothersome to have the bottom buttons done up. I just unbuttoned one or two and it seemed to do the trick for me.
What are those slightly shiny straight leg jeans from 1/24? Are they CoH? They look fantastic.
I think that you look adorable in all of your outfits! I really like the orange and white printed dress and the outfit with the argyle sweater.
My least favorite is the boyfriend cardigan. It might be because of both top and bottom being dark. I l also think that you have such great curves it needs a belt of some kind. The blouse looks cute as a layering piece but I am not a huge fan of that color pink on you.
SORRY!
But every other outfit blows me away, you are so put together and feminine. The short hair really suits the way that you are dressing. I am so envious of your weather. I have been in a puffer coat for what seems like months. Thanks for posting!!
Ana, thanks for sharing! They look great!! On how to share an album & not have everyone see your other pics (I think that's been working for me), I post to ofoto & there's an option there to just share a specific album. You can also require passwords on there to view if you'd like. :)
Ana, you look great! That England cardi is awesome! How original and you paired it nicely with everything else. My favorite is Friday 1/23, you look absolutely smashing!
Oh, can I add that I love the little bit of kitty ear sticking out at the bottom of the last picture? Fantastic accessory :)
Beautiful!! You look fantastic. I'm so jealous seeing you in all these skirt and dress outfits with bare legs -- I can't wait for spring to hit the Northwest myself! The skirt and dress outfits are my favorites on you, they are so feminine but always with a little edge, very stylish. I don't really have a favorite, they are all so good, and you wear both A-line and pencil skirts very well.
I agree with Greenglove that the bf cardi would benefit from a belt.
OK. I just came back down to earth after being in orbit over your 1/27 outfit. That sweater! That blouse! I'm beside myself and want to copy the outfit immediately!
Love the belted jacket with skirt on Saturday, and the yellow purse is a perfect, yet unexpected, touch.
Thursday, 1/22, is another orbit-inducing ensemble.
There's something about your 1/26 outfit that does not seem quite as "Ana" as the others. I can't put my finger on it.
Thanks so much for posting, Ana. You are fab.
Ana I love your outfits! My faves are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. You are so put together and everything looks like it fits great. Did you alter your denim jacket to be a little more fitted? Or, did it just come that way?
Ana, what an inspiring week. I want your 1/27 outfit! I especially liked the white belt with white top on Wed. and the way you put your Thurs. outfit together with touches of black and the denim jacket with the girly dress.
Thank you for posting your photos.
Ana, you just have this effortless style! You look so good, but not like you're trying too hard. I want to save all your outfits and copy them!
Ana, you look so polished! Tuesday is absolutely orbit-inducing, and I also really love Friday. The jacket is so pretty.
May I ask how you take your pictures? Your photos seem to capture the color and detail very well, so I was wondering what camera settings you use and what source of light. Maybe you just have a better camera :)
Fabulous! I love, love, love your saturday outfit, especially that bag. It is gorgeous! And so are your other outfits; I'm amazed how you manage to look so polished every single day.
As for monday: the outfit is very cute, but I personally think those colours are less flattering on you than some other things you wear. Maybe a different blouse would be better?
Very stylish! I love thursday's dress, and the argyle and england sweater outfits. I wish it would warm up here!!!
For the photobucket question - do you make a new album when you upload photos? On the left hand toolbar there's an option for "add a new album". Once you create a name for it, you can click on the name and then upload your images into that album. Then you can copy and paste the album's URL (the box will be under "about this album" on the left). I hope that makes sense!
Thank you for the comments, everyone! :D
Maya, thank you for the compliment on the jeans. They are the COH Elson jeans! I love them. Actually, that day I was very bad. I wanted to wear my jeans, but they weren't hemmed yet, so I just turned them under and wore them as if they were hemmed. It worked out okay, but rest assured, they are at the alteration place and should be done tomorrow! I can't wait. The waistband stretched out a bit too, so I had them take it in at the waist after they were stretched so they would stay up better. I definitely want to duplicate them, and also get black and white Ambers and have them altered to be straight legs like the Elsons. They are very comfy and the rise is perfect.
Antje, the skirt and dress outfits are my favorite as well. I'm enjoying the weather here now, because I know in a couple of months it's going to start getting hot, and then I will be so sad.
Julijuli, I did alter my denim jacket. I had it taken in at the waist. I really like it with skirts, but I feel it's a touch long for dresses. I'm going to duplicate my white jacket, but get it in dark denim instead to wear with dresses. I think it's a cleaner, edgier look.
Marianne, I always try to take my photos during the day, facing the sliding glass window to the balcony. That way I get a lot of light. If I do it at night, I turn on the overhead light, and all the lamps around our living/family room (there are 3). Then, I edit them in Picasa. I usually just do auto contrast and auto color adjust, so it does everything for me. Normally it's pretty true to real life, although, maybe colors are not as intense.
I'm pleasantly surprised that everyone liked Tuesday's outfit the best. I liked it too, but I thought everyone would like Friday's outfit the best (that was my favorite). Maybe because I felt kind of rock and roll in that outfit, which is a bit outside my box. :D Tuesday's outfit was inspired by the cold (the England cardi is one of the warmest sweaters I own), and also by what I hadn't worn in my closet yet (Express lace top that I got on sale). So I put them together. I'm glad everyone liked it so much! :)
Monday 1/26 is not a good outfit, I agree with everyone. I'm still figuring out BF cardis, and I just felt kind of blah that day. I still haven't given up on the blouse, but I am going to have the sleeves removed, and then try it under my cream v-neck cardigan instead of the black. Also, I'll pair them with a denim pencil skirt instead of black jeans. I think it will be softer and more "me" that way. Stay tuned.
I do sort my photos into new albums, but when I posted the album URL here, I would have had to post my account password as well, and then everyone can see all my photos. Not that I have anything embarrassing on it, but I'd rather not just give any old person access to post my photos wherever they want all over the internet, you know? Some of you seem to have gone around that somehow, but I can't figure it out. :D
Hi ana! You look great!
I love when I'm going picture to picture and each one is better than the last! I think oh that's my favorite, then I open the next one, and say oh no, that's my favorite--then I go back and look at them all again and decide I can't decide!
I love the England sweater (I think it was Tue the 27th). I also like the jeans and argyle sweater. I love you in dreses and skirts, but it seems so rare that I see you in jeans, that it was a special treat!
When I post albums in photobucket, I create albums on the left hand side of the photobucket homepage. Then I open the album and cut and paste the url, without clicking on an individual photo. HTH
That makes you bad Ana? Hehe, I did that all the time with my Express skinnies. I even posted about it here and Angie said it was fine. I liked the versatility of having them at different lengths, and really, no one was looking at my pant hems so it didn't bother me. But I can understand it's weird not to have any sort of finishing at the bottom.
Wow, what an incredible week for you! I especially like the dresses & skirts! I really like Monday's look (is that one your AF shirts?) and I love Thursday's dress - every time I see it on you, I want to catch the next flight to TX so that I can steal it!!
Thanks Ana! I'll try playing with auto-adjustments. I've been meaning to post a few "keep or toss" questions, but I haven't been able to figure out reliable lighting to capture the fit detail.
As for photobucket, do you mean setting guest password? You can set an album as private and set a guest password for each album I believe.
Another great week! You've gotten lots of comments on the boyfriend cardigan so I won't repeat. I love the outfit with the gray "England" sweater and the blouse -- that is a piece that I feel like I would like but not know what to do with and your outfit is fun and stylish. You really have a great sense of putting clothes together well!
Ooh I like Sat 1-24. So pretty. What kind of jeans are you wearing in the picture. They look very nice.
You always look great and are an inspiration to pay attention to the details.
As for the question on whether it is working to layer the Millie blouse, yes. I however don't particularly like the heavieness of the long black sweater covering up so much of the feminine blouse. Just my opinion though. I see a cadigan or jacket that is in a more fun, less serious color and shape.
Oh Ana, i am pretty much stunned with how good your week was! I'm head over heels about the first outfit especially. The shirt cuffs and belt look awesome together!!! And your England cardie is awesome as well!
You look stunning in skirts and dresses Maya. I'm not even going to try to pick a favourite, because every outfit is so stylish and beautiful.
(Smiling about the English cardi, fun! And I never would have thought to pair that orange/white dress with a black belt and black shoes, but it works!).
Regarding the Milly blouse, I'm with San. I think it might look better paired with a lighter colour. Have you tried it yet under the grey England cardigan? Or with the white jacket?
I'm still blown away by your AF blouse, it's mouth-watering!
Really, I can only repeat what everyone has said. You look fantastic all week! To me the England cardigan is brilliant, because of the lace "tie" sticking out over it. Also, you don't wear a lot of black so this makes it extra special. Of course, you know I love the white jacket. And you have gotten quite a collection handbags now-- all fab. I'm also not too excited with my boyfriend cardigan these days-- except when I wore it with my AF tunic with only a few buttons buttoned. Have you tried it with a tunic length top and not buttoning every button? Or even over a pencil skirt with the bottom buttons unbuttoned. I guess what I'm suggesting is thinking outside of the standard ways of wearing it.
Concerning photobucket, everyone has described making a new album very well-- are you sure you are creating sub-albums (i.e. albums that are inside another album) and linking to that album and not to your highest level album? It should work.
Ana, love all your outfits and will comment in more detail later. Unfortunately, I am swamped with work today.
I wanted to try and answer your Photobucket question. Once you log in you should see a list of albums on the left hand-side. Click the "Edit" button and it will bring up another screen. From there, you can set a password individually for each album. You can make each album private or public. Then for the private ones, you can set a guest password. This should be separate from your overall account password. Hope that helps!
Ana, you're sizzlin'!! I absolutely can't choose a favorite. Love the way you use the denim jacket to toughen up a girly dress. The only outfit I'm not crazy about is Monday's BF cardi, and I echo GG's comments: "My least favorite is the boyfriend cardigan. It might be because of both top and bottom being dark. I l also think that you have such great curves it needs a belt of some kind. The blouse looks cute as a layering piece but I am not a huge fan of that color pink on you."
Ana, you look so beautiful every day! My absolute favourite is the outfit with the England cardi (and I love the suggestion of trying the Milly blouse under that), and I also love the orange dress outfit. I wonder if you could wear the Milly blouse under your denim jacket too, with a pencil skirt in black, grey, navy, cream, or another neutral?
Wow, wow and wow Ana! You look so amazing! Your recent posts are all trough the roof ( or into the orbit as Angie says). That England cardi outfit is so cheeky. And I am glad you for the red pencil skirt you wanted. The only thing that I think it's slightly offis the black cardi with that pretty coral blouse, I think it is too heavy for it. I'd keep everything the same but substitute the cardi color with brown, navy or cream.
You look beautiful, Ana. Are you still going to go blonde next hair app?
Saturdays outfit is my favourite. You were BORN to wear coral. I love the orange dress with the denim jacket too. Your Winter outfits are my Summer ones. Crazy.
Did Brendan bring back that grey cardi? So fab! Such a stylish lass you are.
Thank you, ladies! :D
Angie, I actually got the cardi at J. Crew last year (of course, hee hee). I had to buy it because of the England connection. :D
I can't decide now if I want to go back to blonde at my next appointment. My hair has gotten lighter, so it isn't as harsh as it was when Bobby first dyed it (he said it would lighten up, which is why he did it so dark to begin with). It has kind of grown on me. But, I have to admit that I just don't feel quite as glamorous with brown hair. I don't know why, because I don't necessarily think of dark hair or light hair as being one way or the other on other people. It's just on me personally that I feel this way. And also, I've gotten a lot of compliments from people saying that I look very "french," or like Audrey Hepburn style with darker hair (which is wonderful, I'm very flattered by that). I'm not sure if the blonde is really flattering on me as much as the brown is either. I've gotten really split reviews--half like dark, half like light. Brendan is neutral and likes both. So, I'm torn, and of course (in true Libra fashion), I can't make up my mind one way or the other. I don't know, what do you think?
