A YLF must-read: Suz's memoir "Pathologies"

Suz is far too modest (unlike braggy ol' me!) to promote her own work, so I'm going to do it for her! Our own Suz is the author of not only beautiful stories and essays, but also a full-length book: a memoir entitled Pathologies. I had the immense honor of reading this beautiful, brave, and unflinchingly honest book last fall, and I highly recommend it. I loved every page and read the last 100 pages in one sitting, devouring each chapter, hungering for more. It. was. simply. spectacular.

We are lucky to have such a talent as Suz in our forum!

I read Suz's book last year and absolutely loved her unflinching honesty and insight. She really is a remarkable writer, and I think her essays really hit home for many of us. I've recommended her book to a couple of my friends but hesitated to do so on the forum, so I'm glad that you took the initiative, Nancy.

Oh my!! What a day of thrills. Thank you SO much, all of you. As I told Nancy earlier, this forum includes some of the smartest, most sensitive, most thoughtful, and most perceptive women I have ever had the privilege to meet (and I feel I do know you all a little bit, at least). So praise from you means so much more than praise from almost any quarter.

I would like to add that in addition to Nancy and me, there are many, many other very accomplished writers here on YLF, both published and unpublished. In fact, I am afraid to start naming people because I might inadvertently leave somebody out! I once started a thread calling out YLF writers and it grew incredibly long, none of which surprised me, judging from the quality of communication on the forum. And besides all those who are willing to call themselves writers by vocation or avocation, there are those who may not claim the title but whose writing skill definitely puts them in that category. YLF is truly an amazing place.

YES! I read it a year or so ago, and finished it in one day. Amazing. It's now making the rounds with my friends. Our Suz is amazingly talented and humble. Just look how she tried to turn this thread around to others and YLF!

ETA: That's not to say it's a quick and easy read, it's just that I could NOT put it down.

Well, I just finished it. I could not wait for my printed copy, which is still on its way to me, and I downloaded the ebook thru Google. I was blown away. There was no way I was going to put this book down. I had to finish it. I read it all in one sitting! What a beautiful, heartfelt narrative. I could identify with so many thoughts and feelings - and I think most of us could. Thank you Nancylee for starting this thread and thank you Suz for the most fantastic read I've had in a long time. I hope this is one of many more successes for you.

And ditto to Diana... I am sooo requesting a signature if I ever meet you in person...

I want to read this too! I tried to find it on Amazon Kindle last night, but no luck. I will have to order the printed copy it seems. Will do so.

Loved Suz's essay that I read earlier in the week (thanks to Gaylene for mentioning it), and am very much looking forward to reading 'Pathologies'.Thanks Nancy for mentioning the book - I just need to get my hands on it

I still feel a little amazed to think that anybody actually reads the thing.

The book might be difficult to get electronically; I'm not sure. It's supposed to be available from my publisher as an ebook. http://www.broadviewpress.com/.....038;page=1

As far as I know, people haven't been buying it that way because it is not well publicized.

I couldn't get it on Kindle, but no matter - the actual book is on the way to me via Amazon. I should get it by about Wednesday or so.

Suz, I bought it thru Google ebooks. The bad part is that once you finish it, you cannot go back ( or so I think). That is the only place I found an electronic copy.

I downloaded my copy a few months back from iBooks with no problems. I think one of my colleagues just downloaded a copy from iBooks a few weeks ago.

Do you think we can push Suz's book to the bestseller list?
