Inspired by everyone who has penned a rubric of their own, I decided to give it a go. I especially liked how ManidipaM pared Claire’s rubric down to a rhyme of sorts that was so catchy and easy to remember that it took me a full week to get it out of my head- lol.
Here’s mine:
Matching, Modern, Classic,
Fitted, Well-balanced, Femme

I need some repetition of color or pattern in my outfit for it to feel right. The modern element could include a current design, trendy color, or clothing/footwear/accessories that are on trend. Classic pretty much speaks for itself. I like things that are tailored and fitted to accentuate my waist and hips. I have a short waist and long legs, so creating balanced proportions is one of my figure flattery priorities. And I’m happiest when I embrace my femininity, whether it’s through embellishments like flowers, ruffles, and bows or through the clothing I wear like dresses and skirts.

I used Angie’s advice to build a spring/summer capsule. And I awarded myself bonus points for figuring out how to incorporate clothing/footwear from last year’s summer shopping, too. And to kick things up a notch and try my hand at remixing and actually *using* said capsule, I decided to join Kirti in the 30x30 challenge. Here are pics of my outfits for days 2-5. DS asked to join me in the first pic. I think he just wants everyone to see that he’s finally taller than me ; )
Day 1 (not pictured): white capris, navy tank, scarf, and white ankle strap sandals
Day 2: cropped jeans, ruffled white top, and white sandals
Day 3: purple maxi with rosette detail, abstract scarf, purple sandals (a bonus profile shot of the baby belly)
Day 4: navy dress, white eyelet tee, yellow bow belt, and white sandals
Day 5: navy linen skirt, white tee, blue paisley scarf, and canvas flats (I tried tucking the shirt in, and it was NOT a good look.)

So far so good. I'm excited about the challenge and I'm loving how the rubric is helping me both fine tune and trouble shoot outfits.
