I know that I don't get to post on here as much as I would like, but I do continue to lurk and read every time I need a break from writing or research. I really take all the comments to heart, especially the feedback on others' outfits that I also use to put together outfits. I think that my two years of reading this blog and several months on the forum have really paid off. I received two amazingly sweet compliments this weekend.
First, I went to visit my mother-in-law on Saturday, and one of the first things she said to me was "you look cute--you always look so cute." My mother-in-law is a stylish woman in her own right, so that compliment was especially well-taken (I was wearing my new black, wrap tunic with white polka dots over black leggings, with my favorite lime green cardigan--casual and comfy!).
Second, I was out in my garden yesterday, and my neighbor gave me the nicest compliment, too. This was at the end of a long weeding day; I was sweaty, in knee-length jean clam diggers (they are actually cut-offs, but I roll them to the knees), an old, fitted white t-shirt, flip-flops, a head scarf, and sunglasses. My neighbor said that I am such an inspiration. She told me that I always look so nice and so well put together, and that even when I am out in my garden I look stylish. She said she feels like she lives right next to Jackie O. I was slightly embarrassed at her comments (because I felt dirty and gross), but they were nice, and I wouldn't have received those two years ago.
I'm just wondering whether others have received feedback since coming here? Have your friends and neighbors noticed a change? Do you get compliments from strangers? Please share your stories!
