Descriptions of your daily ensembles

A few outfits from August

Despite the hectic schedule, I managed to take a few pictures:

Nothing fancy or special. But this way I can depend on you to tell me if I'm stuck in a rut and of course, most importantly, I also get to hear all your lovely suggestions!

Thank you!

I can see no sign of a rut, your accessories are fabulous. Did you make a decision about the black dresses?

Love the yellow sweater on you, and the military jacket. Nice week Vani! It must be cooling down for you since you're wearing layers. I can't wait until our weather cools down a bit.

Vani! The first outfit with the citron cardi has me flying around the room! I couldn’t even look at the rest before I posted this comment. KILLER! First, I need to calm down.

The turquoise and orange jewelry is so great. I love it. I think all the outfits are really nice. I like the boyfriend sweater outfit a lot. It's a fun sweater. I also like the vest with skirt outfit. You are just doing so well! I enjoy all the color and fun in your outfits.

I think you look fabulous!

The cardi in the first picture is such a gorgeous colour on you perfect x

Vani I disagree - you have had an awesome month! You wear yellow very well and that denim skirt is fab! The BF cardie looks GREAT on you too - they are so comfy as well as good looking, aren't they?

Okay. I’ve calmed down, Vani. Now I can comment of the rest of the oufits…..

You look wonderful in each ensemble you posted! You wear bright colours and black & white just as well. Very lady like, AND fun.Trendy, AND polished. You have great style :0)

It’s interesting that you and I have completely different colouring, but we look good in exactly the same colours. Food for thought.

Gosh, I don't see a rut at all!

I love how you look equally polished whether you are casual or dressy(er). The brightly colored necklace you paired with the b&w printed top and waistcoat is so fun and cheerful, and that denim pencil skirt is gorgeous on you. You've given me great inspiration as I'm putting together business casual outfits again!

Thank you so much ladies :-) I really need to stop posting late at night :-D

I haven't been feeling like I am in a rut but I do feel like I need to step it up a notch and try to inject some well needed dose of ME into my wardrobe. I just wanted to make sure I haven't fallen back onto my old ways of "looks good enough" :-)

Angie, thank you! Nowdays I can't stop buying color. I can't remember the last time I bought something in black. White and grey have become my new neutrals :-) It certainly is intriguing we look good in the same colors, isn't it? I think a blog post on helping determine personal color guidelines would be a great idea! It took me a long time to figure that one out.

I love the yellow/citron cardi too, but hope to replicate in a better quality knit. I like the V neck and the metal button detailing at the cuff (I guess we can't see that in the photos) but the material itself seems a bit flimsy. I picked this up at NY&Co.

Niva!!! Fabulous week! My favorites are the outfit with the yellow cardi and the other with the pencil skirt and a vest!! You were made for pencil skirts!!! Killer!!!

I think you had a fantastic week! I like all the outfits, but I especially like the outfit with the citron cardi, and the last outfit with the denim pencil skirt + vest. I really want to try and copy that one when I find a waistcoat, you look amazing!

Wow, look at all the fun you are having with your accessories and with color! Love all the bracelets especially...once I could stop goggling at the YELLOW YELLOW YELLOW in the first shot! :)

The military jacket is great on you, loved the patterned blouse, vest and chunky colored jewelry, and looooooooved you in that last vest and skirt. Simple yet so pretty and elegant!

The yellow looks great on you! I love the first outfit and the last outfit the very best. Wow - the vest/skirt combination is just excellent too. Where are you finding these fabulous skirts?

Vani, you look amazing! Love ALL the outfits and all the layering! My favorite is the vest over the printed blouse.

I think all of the outfits are FABULOUS! I particularly like your black vest and the skirt you are wearing in the first photo with that great yellow cardi....care to share where you got those two items? :)

I must say, you are inspiring me to wear color. I have a tendency to wear lots of neutrals...cream, grey, champagne, dusty peaches and pale pale pinks...but nothing vibrant and it looks so fresh to see color.

Really nice !

Vani - I haven't read the rest of the posts but where's the rut? I'm glad you posted so we could set you back onto the path of sanity :-) You are gorgeous and the colors are awesome on you! My favorite is the first outfit and the grey miliarty jacket. Did you get the jacket at Express? I have a very similar one that I adore.

Love all the outfits. The pritn blouse and the yellow/citron cardi are the best. Seems like your rut is my fancy. :)

Thank you SO much :-) The print top had become sort of an orphan because it seemed a tad harsh with my almost always black bottoms (pre-YLF). I am glad to bring it back into rotation.

agrace, I bought the vest/waistcoat at JC Penny. The brand is Worthington. Hope you find one soon! The skirt is Kenneth Cole that I bought at the outlet store.

Sihaya, the jacket is Kenneth Cole too. Aren't these military jackets great? I absolutely love it, makes me feel awesome everytime I have it on :-D

Very nice outfits! The citron and read cardigans are really lovely, and I like how you used them to liven up the basics. I also enjoyed seeing you wear the vest. Great week!

Thank you Danja :-) I would never have even considered those colors 6 months ago. I do love them now.

Khris, I meant to tell you - it is hot as hades here! But the workplace stays chilly so a majority of the time I am quite comfortable. When I'm out, the outer layer comes right off :-)

I love all the outfits and you pair the accessories well with them.
