5 silhouettes

Here are my 5 silhouettes inspired by Una's challenge.
1. pencil skirt and fitted top
2. flared dress and cropped jacket
3. pencil skirt (really a dress but acting as skirt here) and oversized sweater
4. skinnies and tunic with vest
5. skinnies with button front and short pullover (thanks to Suz for her suggestions on styling this sweater!)

Woot! Am surprised and honored that people tried this with me! I haven't even posted my pics yet - you all are ahead of me as usual.

My faves here are 1 and 4. And love your use of fur vest - must remember to use that. So do you feel like it was hard to do this or a piece of cake? Any no brainers or rough days or faves? Unexpected moments?

Una - honestly I didn't set out to do this challenge, but when Suz posted hers I looked through my past week's photos and said, I can do this. So I guess I use a few different silhouettes on a regular basis. I struggle with trousers which are not shown here, but I can get by without them for the most part. Short over flared is a no brainer for me, as is tunic over skinnies. 1 and 4 are my faves too. I loved the coziness of 3, although looking at the photo I don't think those shoes were the best choice with those thick tights. As many of us have discovered, look 5 takes a lot of trial and error and I'm still not 100 percent confident with that one.

Great outfits! I love #1 and 2. And the silhouette in #5 is hard to do, but I think you did it very well.

Okay, first off, I think you NAILED the short sweater over shirt thing in #5 -- it was a simple as a shirt that is more blended in colours with the sweater and pants! Wow -- it's a great look on you! (It will be a really useful sweater in early spring, too, I'll bet. I always like to have a few items in a "spring like" colour but a winter weight for those days when we are so sick of darks.)

I also love the graphic integrity of #1, and #4 is so much fun!

So true, Suz - we usually have miserably cold and windy springs, so being able to feel springy but still warm is a good thing. Thinking of more silhouettes to do.
I'll try a bootcut jean with blazer look next week and maybe a long cardigan or long jacket over a dress.

These are all winner outfits to me, and great examples for reference on your silhouettes. I especially love #1 on you; the pencil skirt look seems to love you in both 1 and 3, and I like how you repeated the blue with your shoes in outfit 1. The dress in 2 is another stunner!

You have such great variety here. 1 and 4 are my favorites, but the buttondown under short pullover is making me want to experiment with that look. Well done!

You've done a fab job here and well done on joining in on the challenge. I like 1,2,4 and 5....though I think #3 may work better with knee high boots.

I love the variety of silhouettes here -- 1 and 4 are my favorites, but 2 is just amazing in a stunning unexpected way. There is something really special about this exercise -- not only doing it, which I did, but also seeing the fruits of it. I feel like you can really get someone's fashion personality when you see their five silhouettes all lines up. I just love your exuberance and your range.
