I gave a talk on Friday at the library in a small southern Utah town. Kanab will look familiar if you are a fan of western film and tv. Over 100 movies were made there. I stayed in the James Garner room of the motel that was the hub of Utah's little Hollywood. Kanab is also the home of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, which brings an interesting new dynamic to this old cowboy town.
10 more days and I get to wear two shoes again. Not sure I'm liking the v-neck with the jacket. I used to steer clear of round collars, might have to revisit that now that I've adopted the denim-cut jacket as a basic uniform element.
Yes, I got sunburnt in 20 minutes by the pool between checking in the motel and going to the library to set up. Kanab is a couple thousand feet lower than where I live and it was SPRING there!
I don't think there will be too many of these WIWs. My first YLF epiphany is that my summer wardrobe doesn't need to be much more than my travel wardrobe. I have a gear lifestyle 25-30 days a month (we are novice farmers in a very small tourist town). If there's a party here or I go to into the city or teach or talk or travel for two weeks, I need the same 12-15 items of clothing all summer. The good news is that I can concentrate on a nicer selection of items that all work together. But it could get boring fast in the WIW department. Even if I'm not uploading a lot, I'm learning more from YLF than anywhere before, because it's so welcoming and real-to-life. Thanks already.
