Especially because I can't really tell the difference I would go M if it was for myself

Even the sleeve length looks the same

I prefer the S on you because of the shoulder fit. Get what you feel most comfortable with.

OMG something is going on with the sizing. Crazy... If you still not sure perhaps go back in-store and check other pieces S and M. Sizing and labeling is all over the place, even with more pricey items. How annoying.

I prefer the slightly longer length to the M. Even on my short torso, when a jacket is super cropped, it can feel a little out of proportion. All other things being equal (shoulder fit looks good) I’d go with the slightly larger one. Plus you can more easily layer knitwear underneath.

Shoulder fit better with the S, but length with M. If you'd wear thicker tops under though, go with the M.

YES. I love when I pick what Angie picks and for the same reason!

I responded more positively to the slightly longer M.

Anchie, and Suz, thanks!

Anchie, the same jacket is very fluid on me. Roomy, but not oversized - which I don't wear unless it's a Summer linen shirt! The only reason I like the fit is because the jacket is SHORT and square. That part adds structure to my small frame. It's my usual Zara size, so I'm guessing this is the intended fit as Zara items typically fit me very well. Zara is also VERY on trend. Hence my preference for the M.

I personally preferred the other two Zara tweed jackets on you - (on your other thread) - because they were longer, and a better proportion to my eye. I also thought the blues were nicer with your hair and complexion.

All that said - YOU have to go with which jacket makes you happy. YOU are the wearer, and that is who you listen to

Angie- I will get the navy blazer from the other thread and I still haven’t decided about this yellow cropped, but if I decide to keep it I will go with M. But looking at photos, I don’t see much difference in length between sizes and worry that even M is not long enough. Should I try L?
Regarding the other blue blazer, thing is I already have many navy blazers in different weights and shapes, but not cropped, and one cropped would be sufficient, while other feels like duplication. I like this cropped yellow because I don’t have anything like it and color palette works with my wardrobe, that is why I am still thinking about it.

Makes sense!

No, don't go for an L. The M is sufficiently fluid.

I also have suspicion that M I have at home is actually also S, because it feels almost identical to S that I brought from store. I can’t tell which one I have on unless I check size. I think M I tried in store was little roomier. But difficult to tell now for sure.

Keep in mind how mass production of a garment works : there is often only 1/4” difference in side seam allowances ( between sizes as unspecific as S, M , L are ) . Then any minor shift in the fabric in cutting and sewing can affect the outcome - in other words some smalls and mediums ( for example ) are too close in size to notice any difference . It’s not like it’s a bespoke garment where the sewing and cutting are specific and detailed . I wouldn’t over analyze the differences between the two jackets and would pick the one that you feel best in , regardless of what the label says . I have to say that I still LOVE this jacket and wish I had it !!

Wise words LJP! Anchie, I was thinking along these lines as well, the difference is so small, just go with the one you feel most fab in regardless of labels.

I love the jacket. The sizes don't look that different to me.
